This looks possible. I want to see the line when it comes out later. I think that if Ohio had them in "'da house" again OUr guys would be favored.

I am not all in to beat Minnesota. I am holding less than 100% players for MAC play. Given that, judgments based upon this next game would not be valid. The Gophers are having their own injury issues and will likely be doing the same thing, protecting players for league play.

I guessing Ohio is put as a 6.5 underdog. Any other guesses?

I'll guess we open +7.5, which is certainly doable.

Go Bobcats! Feast on gophers.

I may be drinking your green Kool-Aid L.C. because I rarely miss a prediction such as that so badly.

I've never made a bet online. I'm almost tempted to do so.

I'm surprised at 13, too. I presume that means that many of the injured Minnesota players are due back. The gamblers usually know what they are doing. Nevertheless, I think Ohio has a chance.

Win or lose, this game will tell us a lot about the Bobcats.

VERY curious.

Not give best effort to win?

Pre-dismissing/deflecting any criticism...such that if we lose it's okay and any commentary on what may contribute to a potential loss can be said to hold no weight.

Heads you're right, tails any contrary opinion is wrong.

BG at BG, and NIU at DeKalb will probably be tougher games and more meaningful (hopefully) for a shot at The MACC.

Give every player a copy of the schedule and ask them to circle their two top games and I expect you would have the top two for nearly all of them. Krizancic might have circled Minn.

From what I've always heard, read and experienced as a former coach, well coached teams, and I believe this one is, only have one game on their schedule - the next one.

Completely agree, good teams look only to the next game. If we would take the approach of "tanking" the Minnesota game, the entire staff needs fired immediately. I do not see Coach and his staff taking that approach. By the way, could you possibly set expectations for the program any lower?

This is equally as stupid as the dribble Monroe posts.

We are 3-0 and have a chance to get a win over the Big 10. Hold nothing back. We will worry about MAC play after we beat Minnesota.

Getting to 4-0 is the only objective we need to be worried about.

I usually agree with Bcat2, but not this time. Fortunately, I think I understand the competitiveness of Frank and I don't think he ever goes into a game with the attitude of how can we limit our losses. He tries his darnedest to win every game and does the best he can in each and every situation. The lone anomaly was the Louisville game two years. I have no explanation as to what happened there, except that we just had "one of those games" where nothing went right for us and everything the other team tried looked like a coaches clinic highlight video.

Monroe. My military mind keeps me focused on the mission. Perhaps I have it wrong. I thought the mission was a MACC. We are at the point were Economy of Effects, Sustainment and Security become primary. I do not expect you to follow any of that. It would be easy to fall into coach speak and say all the politically correct words, but, I want to be honest. Injured players who need rest/recovery should get it this week. I stand by that.

Military mind? What does that mean? I think we'll lose this battle and 50,000 men but we'll win the war?

Too bad we did not play them last week. This week, I believe they will be much more focused. I can only hope we are too!

It's now at 10.5, so it's headed towards our guess.

I'm with Alan - there is only one game, the next one.

OCF, in my mind there has only ever been one game when Solich tried to limit losses, and that was Virginia Tech in 2005. He lost some others badly along the way, but only because Ohio was beaten, not because he tried to limit losses.

Easy Sir. The principles I referred to are taught to our leaders so they will win wars without wasting lives. Military mind. You might read some of General Stanley McChrystal's works. He is now at Yale teaching courses in International Relations. Sorry to have referenced the military. It seems I touched a nerve.

Not taking the bait on a guy who resigned after making disparaging remarks about our vice president.

RE: GEN McChrystal. Defense Secretary Robert Gates described McCrystal as "perhaps the finest warrior and leader of men in combat I (have) ever met."

Not a "Yes" man. Not one to "doctor" intelligence reports for the pleasure of an Administration. Yale picked up one of "those who can" and has.

bcat2, all you say about the general is correct. However, a member of the military while on active duty has one overriding objective -- follow orders and shut up. You don't publicly criticize the civilian chain of command. If things get so bad that you can't countenance it any longer, the honorable thing is to resign and then to blast the powers that be all you want as a civilian. I believe that several generals in our history have learned the hard way that they must follow orders, whether they like them or not, and keep their mouths shut -- MacArthur and McClellan come to mind. Perhaps it goes with the letter "M." ;-)
