Per above - know many who have made it a career from rec to college level and are earning a solid living.
"Top coaches" - if you mean a Coach K, Saban, etc. No. If you mean reached coaching level at college level and earring millions a year - Archie Miller is a quick answer - a better answer is take a look at OUr coaching staff, Phys ed., American Studies, Recreation, Leisure Studies, And...gasp...Coaching.
They are studying what interests them and what they can make a decent living doing. May be ridiculed around the water fountain, but many are on scholarship and are graduating debt free with a college degree and experience that provides a living.
I have have no disagreement with anything you posted.
If you're happy with your education, career, and "life" you can't ask for more.
My problem is with college athletes being put in "stay eligible" majors by their coaches where, if you don't beat the odds and make the pros, you don't have much of an education to fall back on.
