Miles to Indiana, will be with Kurtis again
That's great to see Kurtis and Miles together at Indiana but man, I didn't realize how bad Indiana has been over the years. They've only had 1 season with 8 or more wins in the past 20 years. Yikes

https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/indiana/inde...
Only team in FBS with 0 bowl wins this century.

Think they haven’t won since the early 90’s.
Let us all not forget - there was a school we all know and love that was one of the most downtrodden programs in all of D-I not so long ago. It was know for having a nice campus, in a cool town, with a good basketball program and a horrible football program. Sound familiar? Yes, I’m talking about Ohio, and you can say the exact same thing about Indiana now. Prior to the Grobe/Solich eras, Ohio football was pretty putrid. Losses piled up year after year and bowl games were all but wishful thinking. But it doesn’t have to remain that way. It takes a university/athletic department vision, a commitment to resources, hiring the right coach, and bringing in players that want to be part of the change. That’s exactly what happened at Ohio and what Indiana can be in position to do itself. IU is a beautiful campus and Bloomington is a cool college town. It’s always going to be tough to top hoops at IU but they have recently done major work on their football facilities and they have an outstanding stadium. They also went out and hired a coach who could be just the guy to put Indiana in much better shape in Big Ten football. I’ve literally watched this all unfold right in front of my eyes with Ohio (as some of you have as well) and Rourke and Miles have the potential to help jumpstart the same thing at IU. They both have a great opportunity to play Big 10 football at a very cool school and I wish them both the very best.
And as for the future, they just got an commitment today from a 4 star QB.

No, it's not. They've got the most perpetually overrated basketball program in the country and are still living as if it's the 1980s.

Overrated or not, you’re only kidding yourself if you think basketball is going to be easy to top at IU. From a lifelong line of Hoosiers in the family, any one of them would be happy to debate and disprove you on that remark.

I knew what you meant with the “they” and not “we.” And yes, a really nice pickup for them. I really believe he’s going to put some life and energy into that program. It’s going to be damn near impossible to be an upper tier Big 10 team with OSU and UM and who the Big 10 is adding. But there’s no reason IU can’t solidify itself in the next tier with its other peers with the resources and direction they have lined up. Time will tell but the Hoosier faithful is excited with the direction early on.

Only because the football program is that awful.

IU basketball hasn't been relevant to anyone other than their fans in many, many years.

If this guy is "not worried about NIL money" but wants to transfer and isn't going to end up at South Carolina or Boston College (and won't be welcomed back at Vandy after this little long winded tweet)...let's get him!

He returns kicks too.

Yeah that’s too bad, but not surprising. Thought he should’ve stayed at LB, but the writing must’ve been on the wall. Still could’ve developed into a strong 2nd behind RHJ? Ah well.

We had so many injuries at running back at one point last season that he tried to switch midseason for the good of the team. McCormick was getting most of the carries. Tyler Toledo got some. Neatherton walked back on to fill a need. Now, I guess they had the whole offseason to decide where to put him f0r 2023.

Interesting tidbit. Lots of people on the recruiting page saying we need to recruit more Ohio kids. About half of the roster is Ohio players (60ish). Of the 12 scholarship players in the portal right now only two are Ohio kids (Foster & Quinn). Obviously in the portal for different reasons. You could say one was a “hit” for the staff and one was a “miss.” Of the the 10 others not from Ohio, I’d characterize 7 as “hits.” (Torrie, Danneker, Kurtis, Sieh, O’Shaan, Walton, Cross).

All this says to me is, at least based off portal entries, Ohio has “hit” on a higher number of out of state kids. But they may be more likely to leave and enter the portal to go elsewhere. Kindof a trade off. Get more loyal (possibly less talented local guys). Or go big or go home with national talent. Thoughts?

Turns out it may have been more about the money than he implied. Plus he irked the Carolina staff with this whole ordeal. As for getting himself drafted, Xavier Legette will likely be a first round draft pick off a 5 win South Carolina team. Hope it all works out for him, but his statement certainly didn’t line up.

D.C. what makes you think 150 division one recruits from the state of Ohio makes them inferior to out-of-state kids that we recruit?

We're up to 16 bobcats in the portal now with only 4 that have found a new home.
