Fun facts of the week:

Ohio has scored 49 points total in the first quarter through five games this season. Last season, Ohio scored 55 total points in the first quarter in 12 games.

Ohio has not allowed a first quarter TD yet this season (two FGs).

It's good to see that our offensive output is tracking ahead of last year. For that to continue we need a healthy QB. What's the word of JD's recovery? Can Vick be ready for Miami. I have to say that, based on this week's performance, I am not feeling confident about Windham - even vs Miami.

That's about what I expected. If it appears that Vick won't play, the line may narrow. Even though they suck, I'm sure the Bobcats won't overlook Miami, so I don't expect it to be close this week.

I never take a win over Oxford Tech as a given. They'll play this game extra hard -- like they did against UC in a 37-33 loss. It could be a TD or less, even if they do suck.

OCF, you are right on the money. This game will not be a walk-over, even if Miami is "down". We should win, I think we will win, but it will not be the "walk thru the park" that some posters are calling for. We are vulnerable at QB if Vick is not 100%, and we have a number of other players who are "dinged up". This is a "must" win for Ohio, so motivation should not be a problem.

Of course it's not a walk-over. No game should ever be considered as such! How many on here picked NIU to get walked-over by CMU? Or MSU to walk all over Purdue? That's why I think all these prediction threads are so fickle.

Well, in the NIU-CMU case, keep in mind that CMU has been to NIU what Kent has been to Ohio. CMU is the only MAC team that has beaten NIU in a regular season game since 2011, and they have done it several times.

I do expect a double digit win precisely because, even though Miami sucks, I know the players will be fired up for this game. They will NOT want to spot Miami three TDs again this year.

Surprise, surprise--rain in the forecast.
I see the chance of rain under 10%. Partly cloudy with temps in the low 60s/high 50s. Very nice October football weather. You should get by with a light jacket.

It's pretty easy to make the case that redhawk is the worst team in MAC.

If OHIO's any good, then this game will be over by halftime.

We haven't walloped a good team since forever. We ought to be able to thrash a horrible team.

Monroe, Miami may very well be the worst team in the league, but I would caution you to take a closer look at the college football scene before you are calling for "game to be over at half time" etc etc. There is just not that much difference between the top two or three teams in the league and the rest of the pack. The same thing goes for most all of the other leagues. On any given Saturday, if you do not have your "A"game, or your team has key injuries here or there, or you lose key turnovers, or a few breaks go the wrong way.....you have close games or you get "upset". There is talent on most every team, and there is excellent coaching all over college football. You are going to have very few games where you get a win for just showing up.
Fans from up Rte. 33 seem shocked that their team should ever have even a close game, let alone a loss! They won the National Championship last year! How dare Western Michigan push them all over the field the entire first half, or shame on Indiana for almost winning on Saturday !
Ohio will be favored to win this Saturday, and I think we will win, but to call for a blow-out by halftime is setting yourself up to be unhappy! That being said, things just might go our way, and we could have an easy win, but to expect it because we are 4-1 and they are 1-4 is missing the boat imo.

Plus coach Solich does not blowout opponents. Ball control offenses burn too much clock and the Bobcats substitute as early and often as possible. With a lead we see Ohio's no huddle offense standing patiently at the LOS running the play clock down. Fans bored by this are just doomed to boredom.

Tough #*(%**

Miami is horrible. Winless save for that rousing win over Presbyterian--who knew that you can play a game against a religious sect?

It's been eons since we've blown anyone out.

Are you people in some other bizarro universe? You think this will be a close game but there are threads about OHIO winning out and making a major bowl game?!

I'm sorry. At some point if you're a good team you blow someone out--game essentially over at halftime. Especially when that someone stinks.

You put it away early, play your subs to see what they have, and so your starters don't risk injury and heal from any dings.

By all means correct me if I'm mistaken, but if we win this game won't we be at .500 for the all-time record?

According to Frank, they feel Basham will be back to 100% by game time. Jovon Johnson cleared to practice. Injury could linger for some time but could possibly play this week.
