Whatever, throw the flag. But for you to continue to bring it up a year later one would expect that it was a particularly vicious hit with the intent to hurt the other player - which it wasn't.

And now you're attacking Poling what exactly is your motive here?
Paul, aka "Loose Canon." Not sure, but, I think up until your post this was about an unnamed player missing game time for "violation of team rules." My motive is to point out team behavior that I expect the coaches to have a better handle on. What is your motive for calling out a player by name with details about his violation of team rules?
At least Paul posts under his real name, unlike you.
Thanks Monroe, but that is not entirely true. :)

Phil Steele picks Akron, 23-20 and makes it one of his "best bets."

Elton Alexander doesn't pick this game, but predicts that the winner of this game will win the East, and will face Toledo and lose:

That isn't surprising. Before the season he picked Akron to win the MAC East, and given that Akron is mostly healthy, while Ohio is pretty banged up, I would be surprised if he picked Ohio.

I know that every game is a BIG game, but this is a REALLY BIG GAME for our Bobcats ! Hopefully we can grind out a win against the Zips. It will be a knock down, drag out kind of battle. Go Cats, find a way !

I like the weather today. Not enough to go sit in it, but I think it favors us. It favors the midwestern coach over the southern guy with all the florida jucos. X factor: OHIO.

The weather sounds a bit nicer than the game we saw at EMU.

Go Bobcats!

I've been to some sub-zero days, but that day I just didn't have the right clothes.

What a huge pick up at Tight End kid just gets it done blocking and receiving. Too bad he's here for one year

Same old Akron out there again today. Ohio looks head and shoulders better than Akron already. Gonna be a walk in the park today.

Yep. The last 2 MAC East Championship teams also had good TEs so it bodes well for the season.

I wouldn't be surprised. Let's see how he looks. Vick just keeps getting dinged up. Knee, elbow, ankle, now left wrist. I hope he heals, as he's been playing great.

This is another one of those games that's close but doesn't have the feel that Ohio will lose. Our D has pretty much held Akron in check and if the offense gets one or two more scores we should be able to put it away. Hope the second half plays out like the first.

Don't understand why we didn't pound the ball with the running backs with our back up qb in the redzone. Instead a pick and no points. Terrible not to get any points on that drive.

Never doubted it for a second. Akron can't beat Ohio. Period. 8 and counting.

Defense saved the day. Quentin Poling open field tackle on first down and huge sack on second down to save the day. Not to mention the int from the first half. Player of the game in my book.

The D really earned their schollies this week. Big kudos to them. No TDs allowed for the first time this season. GREAT JOB!!!

Offense really needs work, especially in finding someone who can fill in for Vick right now. He's really dinged up and can't throw the ball well because of the ankle. If he has to step into it to get the ball down the field, it sails. That happened several times last week. If he goes down, we're really one-dimensional. Windham is a good option QB but throwing the ball is not his game. That INT was a real wasted opportunity.

Been thinking that I've missed the team from three or four years ago that had running back option passes, wide receiver option passes, throw-backs to the QB and fakes on punts and FG tries. That was a fun time. Our offense is pretty vanilla now, probably because the talent for that stuff isn't there. I'm not calling for anybody to be fired, and I'm not saying we're not talented. But it would be great if we could mix it up more instead of being so predictable.

Glad they reviewed Yaz's second PAT. I don't think he's missed one yet.

Reghi was showing his Akron bias again. With Ohio up 14-9 he made some statement about if Ohio is to continue their streak against Akron, they'll need more points or defensive stops. He made it sound like Ohio was trailing. He might be enthusiastic for the MAC, but he should throttle back his Akron favoritism.

A win is a win; so, we're 1-0 in the MAC with Fiami coming up next. Let's beat the crap out of them.
