I don't know who Bcat2 is, but their affiliation to Ohio University is no more relevant to the necessary termination of Frank Solich than the profit loss statement of your travel pet bag company.

But you know as well as I do...and, Situation, you should be aware of this...that he or she has about never in a lengthy history here posted a comment that is less than 100% supportive of the program. In fact, if one was a paid member of the publicity staff of Ohio Athletics, one's posts would be less effusive than Bcat2's.

It's so slanted as to raise a legitimate question of motivation.

Let go of that baggage. Your knuckles are white with the death grip you have on it. The players deserve better from their "fans." Oh, and with your omission of good wins like Marshall, Penn State, Louisiana-Monroe in the Independence Bowl you deny by omission success of the players. You are denying their hard earned progress. Who brought the term "liar" to the discussion? Oh, you did. Well, again if it fits with by omission you might have just made a Freudian slip.

One of the things I find most interesting about the anti-Solich crowd is their dependence on hand-picking data to support their theories.

I get it, your deal is to be critical. Guess it makes you feel superior. However you do not get to deny by omission the success and progress made and call it support. The players deserve better.

Ohio is 3-2 this season against teams with a winning record. But hey the 9-3 Marshall win doesn't count. By the way Akron doesn't count. And that leaves us with NIU. That's just one win against a team with a winning record this season, so obviously that doesn't count either.

Therefore, Ohio remains 0-3 against teams with a winning record this season. (*0-3 because even though Buffalo didn't have a winning record this season well just round up)

Right now Missouri needs all the "fans" they can muster. This week I put a Ben Franklin in the hand of a MIZZOU student to help her do a break with Habitat for Humanity. Oh, perhaps I should have written LSU, but, really any SEC program would be fine.

Monroe and Allen, I think perhaps you're misinterpreting the positive responses from the other posters after the NIU win. No one's thinking that Ohio is the cream of the crop in the MAC right now or the best team in the MAC; we are all very well aware that Ohio hasn't won the MACC under Coach Solich. You have pointed that out ad infinitum. And obviously we all want to see a MACC, the sooner the better.

But jeez, Ohio just beat a team that had won 22 straight games in November against the best teams in the MAC! Can we not celebrate that win and just leave it at that? And for the most part most of us posters actually AGREE with you guys-its just that you keep bringing up Ohio's shortcomings and lack of a MACC again and again and again, day after day after day after day! We get it; we can read. Ohio isn't where anyone wants to be goal-wise at this moment and we AGREE with you on that. But man, the constant drumbeat of negativity is just depressing.

And Allen, you very well brought up a team as an example of yours, Ohio State. I hope to all that is good and holy I am never like those Ohio State honks!!!!! They have the best coach in America, they win a national championship and sometimes its still not good enough. Those people are absolute sycophants and I refuse to be anything like that. You may say "they demand excellence out of their football team at all times and what's wrong with that?" Here's what's wrong with that-the only thing as an alumnus that I demand out of Ohio University is a top notch educational institution that provides education and fellowship to its students. That is its mission. My love for Ohio University has nothing to do with any of its sports programs, none at all. And I think that's the DNA of most Ohio University alumni. If it weren't, if Ohio was a football school Peden Stadium would certainly hold more than 24,000 people.

But that does not seem to be the case to these silly Ohio State honks, its seems their whole being, their whole identity is wrapped up or defined in how well (or not well) Ohio State does any any given Saturday. That is just not me.

I agree to a certain extent. However, we as fans should be able to voice our opinions without being casted as negative. Ohio had a huge drop off and came back nicely, which is far worst than what Ohio A&M did. I love Ohio and I love Ohio football and I want to see us become the MAC champs not just compete. We already know we can compete. Ohio States fans and some of their players are out of line, but that is why they win, because they hate to lose. NIU fans were mad that they lose to us, I want to feel like that one day.

And fans should be able to voice positive opinions without being cast as green colored glasses wearing, Solich apologist that are ALL content, even thrilled with the current state of the team.

I would say using a bowl win and out-of-conference win from 2012 to prove your point that the team is "trending up" is a little ridiculous

Using a 2-13 record over the past four years to show there has been a trend of underachieving is probably a little more rational

The way this year's team finished the season brings hope that things will reverse going forward and they will no longer get drubbed consistently by good MAC teams.
