Always quick to post after a loss, but MIA after a win. What a class act.

I'm waiting for him to blame the loss on Frank.

Can you shoot the messenger your way to a MACC?

Who's really tiresome and predictable...and wrong!?

That's an interesting question, but I think you have the wrong answer.

We are pretty predictable and conservative at times.

More later...but tell me about the number of games in which our guys gave a pretty good effort---many...

Now, tell me about the number of games in which in the last year's our coaching was notably the difference in our favor...probably not so many.

So for once in your life answer a DIRECT question ... Frank lost tonight's game? The more you post the less you seem to comprehend about the game of football. In the end it's played ON THE FIELD. Sprague's 2 INT's were a BIG reason we lost. In case you didn't watch the game Frank did NOT throw those 2 passes.

All teams are, and there are times they should be. Nevertheless, this is a bizarre and untimely complaint because, if the coaches cost this game, it was because they were NOT predictable and conservative, and instead of running the ball and burning clock, threw the ball, with the result of two interceptions.

In any case, it was a hard fought game against a very high quality foe. Ohio got the toughest draw of any MAC team, and very nearly won.

Boise State and Temple are much tougher draws than App State and Georgia Southern is about even. I hate to ruin your moral victory. We played an equal opponent, who like us had a weak schedule.

I forgot Boise, and I would agree that they are a tougher draw. I think App State is as good as Temple, and better than Georgia Southern, who they beat.

Temple beat top 25 teams, while we are APP St best win. Temple is much better than them. Temple is ranked 24, Come on.

First off, overall tonight's game was very entertaining. Lots of drama.

mid70s--At some point, a tiger's stripes are evident. Solich and staff--most especially on offense--will never rise above itself and is very unlikely to win a MACC. We are so conservative and predictable. No two back sets, little use of TE, no quick hit passes, nothing to dictate the way the game is played, no particular ability to respond to pressure (must score or sustain possessions). Would be nice to play a guy who seems markedly better than any RB we've had for a while. Etc, etc.

You seem to be an OHIO fan. If you haven't seen that over the 11 years of Solich, then you are not very observant.

Sorry, but the FACTS are my way. The lack of MACC. The bowl game come from behind losses. The season after season in which--oh, injuries, once again!--we have jaw-dropping losses to opponents at the bottom of the MAC. Etc, etc.

Yes, our buys play with fine effort for the most part.

Now point me to facts and readily evident themes/trends which show that this staff is savvy.

The facts/evidence/reality do not support that. They don't.

I'm eminently willing to be shown otherwise. But when you come here supporting a theory which doesn't fit the facts, you will not convince me.

A little more specifically for you, mid70s: Tonight, especially late, we did nothing different than what we'd done all year, than what we've done for years. So, we put no pressure on AppState's defense.

See my myriad other posts in my long history: 2 or 3 back sets (even OCF is waiting for these), quick hit passes, TE rumble slants, true option, hurry-up, etc, etc. Nothing tonight that was new or dynamic or surprising. Didn't do anything to catch AppState off guard at all.

That's imaginative, winning coaching?

But DUTM up the middle rocked 'em tonight, didn't it! So, what we were doing clearly worked. What--our D directly scored 16 of our points and set up another 7, right? Offense anyone??

OCF, I'll try not to respond with the rancor that another of your less-than-honest posts merits. Let's just say that you're better than this.

First, what does me predicting or not have to do with the validity of my analysis?

If I did predict a loss, you'd, of course, attack me for being a downer, for not mindlessly going with the herd.

And, I've been there after the losses and wins. I stated that the win against NIU was a pretty good one. kents and Ball were okay--but those are two pretty bad teams so do not in any way redeem the three prior smashings.

For the umpteenth time, you can love Solich and staff all you want, but the FACTS REALITY do not support that they are doing a very good job.

Enough talent on hand to MACC next year? Could be. But this staff will find a way to just not get it done. How many more years? How many more?

After a day or two. You come on immediately after a loss and gloat . . . after a win you take your time to figure out how you want to frame things. I'm not the only one who has noticed this pattern. Several have PMed me about this very topic. Your agenda is clear. You are not objective. Your are a football polemicist. And, you are good at your craft.

I doubt we see any major changes. Our coaches philosophy and our OC play calling are not going to suddenly change their stripes. I don't see a stud qb on the horizon. Our recruiting appears to be middle of the pack in the Mac. Hopefully a few redshirt freshman will come out of nowhere but who knows. Running game could see an uptick. But the only other area I could see for potential big change is that we somehow stay Much healthier next year. Here's hoping for that.

Painfully agree. As much as I wish we were wrong.

Texas State - W
@ Tennessee - L
@ Kansas - L
Gardner-Webb - W
BG - L
@ Miami - W
@ Kent - W
Akron - W
UB - W
MAC West Trio (have to hope to get EMU)
EMU - W
2 of these 4 (UT, WMU, NIU, Ball, CMU) - L, L

7-5 (5-3)

Another middle-tier MAC Bowl tie-In where we'll face a mid-level Sun Belt team and lose

7-6 season.

DON'T DENY THESE HARD WORKING BOYS THEIR SUCCESS!

I can see a scenario where there are maybe 1-2 more wins in that list you show, but nothing more unless something improves on offense. BG loses Johnson (right?) to graduation, so that might help. Ball State isn't terribly good if we get them, and Kansas isn't special. But that's as optimistic as I can be unless something improves on offense. I don't mind too much - I'll still get 3 good tailgating days out of the fall!

They will make Kansas Goliath like they did Minnesota. The press conference will sound like we have to play the perfect game. The calls will be conservative and we will lose a close game to a horrible team. The fans on this site will talk about how Kansas may win the Big 12 and say they loved AJ's 12 yard run and Poling's sacks. Polls will go up whether we will be bowl eligible again.

Yeah...Ball State is a winnable game...but it would be there this year (I'd guess since they were in Athens last year)....plus they were young and should be better next year.

Kansas is, well, Kansas. But that's a Big XII team on the road.....and with our current state, I'm hesitant to say we walk into Lawrence and win.

BG does lose Johnson...but return Knapke, who did a pretty good job filling in for him two years ago when they went to MACC

And yes.....I agree 1000% we'll get at least 3 good tailgating days out of the fall! And if the MAC would wake up and discontinue these midweek charades, we'd have a few more. I'm cool with a couple midweek MACtion games...but four is excessive.

We are more likely to lose to Texas State than Kansas. Kansas is bad. Really, really bad.
