Seriously? All ranking systems are falable. But, Sagrin is a professional and does this for a living and most people think he is pretty good at it. I take his data over an amateurs any day. One thing you forget is that he ranks ALL the teams. So, the Ball St and Ohio rankings from two different years have as much to do with the rankings of 133-135 other schools as much as just those two teams.
I think this is another of those threads that just needs to die.
Hey bro, YOU'RE the one who gave me "something to chew on". And I spit it out because the reality is he's not providing consistent mismearuements. 2014 OHIO MUST be approximately equal to 2015 BSU and slightly worse than 2015 SIU in order for your CONSISTENCY allegations to be accurate.
An example of consistent mismeasurements would be using a tape measurer that starts at 1'-0".
In this very thread I posted a quote:
"All models are wrong but some are useful." - George Box
So ask yourself if Jerryrig is providing a useful ranking system for MAC schools. (>20 FCS schools were better than BSU this season and 2014 OHIO, lmao)
Moreover, understand that my rankings are what actually consistently mismeauring teams methodically over a decade looks like.
Lastly,
"No consensus on what constitutes a 'qualified statistician' appears to have been developed so far."
