If he cleans up Maty Mauk? I don't know anything about him other than his troubles and that he's a QB from Ohio. Just throwing another possible name in the mix.
Mauk only has 1 year of eligibility left and has redshirted already so unless he graduates, which is possible, he can't transfer and play at another FBS school. He can transfer to a lower level without graduating and wouldn't have to sit out. I don't know how many schools would want to risk bringing in a guy with so many suspensions for the possibility of one season out of him.

Ummm, how about NO! Ohio needs stability at the QB position, not a huge wildcard.

OK Paul, I will bite.
What is the Slavin Effect?
Why would Solich discuss this in flux situation in detail other than to quell concern over the lack of QB's in the class? And who would be first to attack the staff over such a boneheaded failure? Perhaps a certain west coast CPA limousine liberal!?!?

Is it against NCAA bylaws to hold a reality show called "The Quarterback", where potential QB transfers try to win the attention of Frank Solich? Instead of a rose, he gives out playbooks.
"Boo, I just really like what you're all about. Will you accept this rose?"

I have to wonder if the coaches may move a QB or 2 to another position if we do get a transfer QB who is really good.

How big is that "if"? I like the thought though. Having a WR in the game who can really throw is an interesting weapon.

Having a wide receiver who can really throw? Now where have we seen that play before? Patriots?

Well, the WR corps already has two former QBs, Cope and Meyer, and they did try having Cope throw it once last year, but the throw was errant, and it was the play where JD got hurt trying to catch it.

Solich has used this deception for years. Black 41 Flash Reverse, beat Oklahoma with it when they were #2. Often to the QB downfield.

He's from Ohio (Kenton) but his family is long gone. Dad was his high school coach, moved family to Missouri, now is suffering from cancer. Wouldn't surprise me if Maty would want to stay reasonably near him. At any rate, we don't need a troubled kid...
