I noticed that L.C. had made a prediction in another thread and thought it was time to start a separate thread for this as is our custom.

My prediction:

I'll move my prediction over here. I don't see Ohio completely stopping WMU, but I think they will slow them, and I think Vick will be more mobile this week, so he'll run a little better and throw much better. I see it Ohio 35, WMU 21. I'll also guess 24,317 for the attendance.

No way we will have that high paid attendance with a noon start. Noon starts hurt attendance here. We will be lucky to have 20000 paid. Actual butt in seats will be 16000-17000.

I guess I'm just too much of a skeptic when it comes to Ohio football.

Band day, Jeffrey. Paid attendance will be up there for sure.

I'm not buying "lucky to have 20000 paid." We haven't been under 20000 in paid attendance for a Saturday game since the 2010 Halloween game against Louisiana. We are working on our 5th straight season (11, 12, 13, 14 and so far 15) where we've been over 20000 in paid attendance for Saturday games. In most cases, well above 20000. Now, most of these games AREN'T 12:00 starts and I agree that a noon start isn't a positive for attendance but we've also come a long, long way in our season ticket holder base. Season ticket holders are counted towards attendance no matter what time the game starts. Same goes for weekday games, which is a big reason those numbers are trending up so strongly as well.

AND this is the blackout game AND band weekend. Those two should help push both paid AND butts in the seats...

Also Bobcat Madness for Men's Basketball after the football game on Saturday can't hurt.

Ugggggh band day AND a noon start? This is going to be by far the worst saturday game-day experience of the year. (Granted, thats still pretty good, all things considered)

...

As for those weekday games, just think about all the Marshall fans that bought tickets to them. While there might not be butts in those seats, the reported attendance may be higher than expected.

Our hope is that the blackout game helps the atmosphere. The blackout game is usually pretty good for atmosphere, but it is also usually a night game for MACtion. I'm not a fan of having the blackout and band day on the same game. The visiting bands aren't wearing black, or are they? Seems like a waste.

No one ever accused marketing of being smart (I'm assuming this is their area).

This is the last home Saturday game of the year. No way the Marshall game would be Band Day. The Louisiana game was Parent's Day. The Miami game was homecoming. The game time for WMU was just set last week by someone else. High school bands are not coming on a weeknight 8:00 start (neither are most students and fans, for that matter. I would suggest that whomever was in charge actually took all of these things into account and decided this was the best alternative.

24-14 Ohio

Defense is going to continue dominating.

As for attendance let's not forget we're 5-1 and this is a huge game for us. That's gonna put some additional people in the seats. I hope they make those bands where black.

I suspect that high school bands have only one uniform.

WMU - 31

P.S. Speaking of blackout unis, granted I'm partial, but Ohio's blackout uniform sure is nicer looking than the hideous ones Ohio State will be wearing Saturday night against Penn State!
