Hey guys. Sorry to come buy during your celebration of winning your conference championship. Just want to let you know that we are taking your coach. We know you can't be our offer so I suggest you don't even try. Coach Albin will love it here in Charlotte. It's a better city with a lot more to offer than Athens. Hopefully you can find a decent replacement.

Truth hurts doesn't it! Don't worry you will bounce back. When you see coach, tell him he will enjoy playing on Saturdays, the day college football games are supposed to be played on.

Coach will fit in just fine in Charlotte. Especially when he wins his first AAC championship. AAC is way better that the MAC!

Wait....you guys fired him in middle of a season when he was 1-7.

Better look for another rah-rah pretty boy from the d-2 or 1aa ranks.

Forgive my French but Charlotte, at least driving thru, is a complete sh1thole, unless you drive the "Express Lanes". I may be wrong, but Albin has spent 20 years in Athens, assume he and wife have friends. Double his salary in Charlotte may sound good but cost of living is massively higher than in Athens. Time will tell what he chooses.

And it isn't like you can't eat whatever you want wherever you want. Certain areas like certain types of food but it isn't illegal to make it elsewhere. I ate Key Lime pie the other day and I wasn't in Miami.

I think there is a good chance Albin won't be here next year. If Purdue asks then he's probably gone. He might choose to go to Charlotte. Maybe after 20 years he wants a change. Charlotte right now looks like a place you go to committ career suicide. Maybe he wants a challenge. When Solich got here that was Ohio. But moving to an area because the people in that area like to eat one type of food more than they like to eat other food is a silly idea.

As one of the forum's resident former southerners, I had BBQ in > SOUTH < Carolina that was better than NC. They use oak in their smokers, not hickory. Had it in both Charleston and the Hilton Head area. I put hickory below oak, pecan, mesquite.

Kiser's BBQ here in Athens holds it's own vs Texas and that is impressive.

Yes, we are hoping to acquire your coach for our football program. This game is brutal. Nonetheless, we certainly don't want to be assholes about it. And there are many of us who have doubts about the chances of him taking our job.

Congratulations on your conference championship and great season! Success tends to attract poachers who want that success. We are no different.

Here's hoping things work out for everyone and that no hard feelings are harbored by the fair Bobcat nation toward Charlotte regardless!

The news coming in just as I was typing that post is that we are indeed acquiring your coach. Revel in the success of this great season nonetheless! This is the cruel reality of college athletics.

We finally had a competitive basketball team last year, and all our top players were poached by bigger schools. Now 3 of them are starters on those teams, and 2 of those schools are ranked. It's brutal, but it's the way it is.

If the news is true, and Albin then brings us a conference championship down the line, don't be surprised when he ditches us for a P4 gig. We sure wouldn't be. It's just the way this heartless game goes.

I wish you the best in continuing your success and finding a great replacement!

Our program is new (2013). Our stadium is relatively small. That largest crowd was a sellout. If I'm not mistaken, we sold out most home games this season. We need to expand our stadium and win more in order to draw more crowd size. Best season has been 7-6, all others losing. It's hard getting a program started.
