Really?  Really?  That's the way you feel after the second half tonight?

At some point, reality has to intrude.  We got creamed.

Having division title hopes every season simply means we are slightly better than Kent, Akron and Miami. 45 seasons and counting since a conference championship is who we are. Nothing else.

We failed but this game was a battle between the top 2 teams in the East standings. Ignore it if you want but we play in big MAC games every year.

If this is who we are I guess I'm satisfied but I'm sure not happy.

Really?  Tell me the last time that we won the MAC title,  Tell me the last time that we were in the title game?  Tell me the last time that we had a MAC player of the year?

We are a middle of the pack MAC team, slightly above the middle perhaps.

What does that have to do with anything?  What's your point.  All of his teammates for both of those games were in (or at least at) those games, too.  Did we win either of those games?

1968.  2011 and it was our 3rd trip in 6 years.  I really don't know if we ever had one maybe Cleve Bryant.  I understand this loss and season have been a disappointing.  I enjoy the fact that we are bowl eligible again and will most likely win 8 games is now the standard for disappointment.

I am curious, how would you fix the problem.  You keep saying we need better recruits and not getting them.  That makes me infer you want a change at the top.  Is that what you want Monroe a change?

hawaiian--We seem to be the same team every game this season--nothing new from week to week.  No new wrinkles today after 10 days since last game and knowing that this was a key game against a tough team.

No hurry up offense.  No two back sets.  No running from TT.

Defense didn't seem to have different blitz packages or loading up of box or anything but same old same old.  I'd've tried five d-linemen.

Also...and I know that we can't change this during the year..but our linebackers ain't big.

If you don't like our schemes and our talent, then it sounds like you want a change.  I crave a MAC Championship as much as everybody else.  I think staying the course with the current regime is our best chance.  Since none of us are in the locker room, we don't know for sure why we don't have new wrinkles in the schemes.  I guess our coaches believe this is what our players can handle schematically.  I don't know.

I do know looking back at the first team that made the Championship Game in '05, the program has grown.  Our talent level is better and our schemes are better.  The team as a whole seems stagnant since the Miami game last year.  Perhaps the senior class is satisfied with their accomplishments and are mailing it in.   If that is the case,  there are some major problems all over this team. Time for the satisfied players to sit and start players with more hunger.

Maybe our talent level and schemes are not better--at least over the last 3-4 years ??

We certainly lack guys who show star power consistently, every game.

it sure must be great to be totally embarrassed on ESPN2 before a national audience. I'd rather be languishing in obscurity someplace. It was literally too painful to watch.

To have hope means that there should be some basis for that hope. Fact is we can't run the ball and we can't stop the run. You don't win many ball games against good teams if you can't do that.

It looks like the program has plateaued, and it's at a better place than it had been, and that's it.

That, unfortunately, is a fact. I turned off the game at the beginning of the 4th. It was just too awful to continue.

It will be very difficult to persuade fans to travel to a bowl game to witness the mediocre play of this team. Look on the bright side we won't be embarrassed on a national stage in the MACC by NIU.

I know that I am torn. I graduated in 1998 when Grobe was making us better after several 0-10, 1-9 seasons..then Knorr destroyed us. Frank saved us and I don't know if we would find a better coach who would stay and keep us consistent. I hate being down on this team. But how many 200 yard rushers do we have to give up and how many easy catches on third down do we have to surrender? And could we please please please go with Boykin and Beau together? And what happened to our slant? It was incredible for TT and Donte but it's gone away. I say we don't have anything else to play for other than an 8-4 record (we ain't beating BGSucks) so let's open it up. Let's go all out and put b@lls to the wall!

Just to be clear, I have watched Ohio do hurry up multiple times this year, an almost instant snap. They did that against Buffalo at least a couple times. In all cases the result has been bad.
