Well reading from online, MAC refs suck again.

At some point you think the quality of the league officiating would improve......

Right. By rule, the game should have ended with the out-of-bounds throw. Does anyone think CMU would consider forfeiting?

No P5 team will go on the road to play a MAC team if this continues.

We are getting down to the bottom of the barrell, Casper.

The NCAA wants a remake of the 60's and 70's and are going to make it impossible for any team outside of the P5 clowns to break in the mix.

Jesse "Rosie Red" Palmer commented that #6 Houston has no chance because they do not play a P5 schedule. So...if Houston runs the table, they will not advance 3-4 slots? Joke.

After all the progress, we are now moving backwards as a conference. As I have said before, follow the money.

If you have heard the ESPN Gameday beaters the last 2 weeks, you would hear more of the same.

Another reason I enjoy the field of 64+ in the NCAA. Not going to happen in football.

I'm glad the Chips won today but I agree with you that its going to be harder and harder for a G5 team to get a P5 team to come over to play.

Even CMU thought the game was over.

The MAC issues a statement that the play never should have happened-

Yes, this trend of P5 schools getting screwed over by officials against MAC teams must stop!!!

Sorry, but screw 'em.

This the first time I can remember the MAC getting a crucial bad call like this in its favor. I do remember several that went the other way, such as Toledo's OT loss to Syracuse a few years ago after a clearly missed extra point that should have ended the game in regulation in UT's favor.

Agree, DCF. I'll lose no sleep over this outcome.

Plenty of calls earlier in the game went in OK St.'s favor, most notably the ref picking up the flag on a OSU touchdown where there was a clear holding.

And like OCF said, the MAC is due to have the benefit of a ref's decision when playing a P5 school.

This was my first thought too. Very happy the MAC is owning the Big12 today.

And funny that in reading tweets that the 'egregious error correction' was cited, much like a certain safety on the 4yd line. Congrats to CMU.

This is one game where I wish the Big 12 officials were taking the heat. God knows we MAC fans in both football and basketball have seen our fair share of MAC keystone cops officiating, but I am not so sure we won't our dirty laundry aired nationally.

In their defense, the officials probably had legitimate cause to make intentionally grounding call, but Oklahoma State's poor defense when everyone knew what was coming spoke volumes. They could have run that final play 100x and we would never again see the result we saw today!

Feeling sorry for a "P5" team that gets screwed by a bad officiating call vs a G5 G5 team is like feeling sorry for Tom Brady because the Pats finally got caught cheating. I'm sure Okie State will put an asterisk next to this one in their record books, but that's just too bad.

The trick is to make sure that we don't get that officiating crew in the future. Maybe they called Tom McCabe for advice on how to call that one.

Keep in mind that the Big12 had the replay officials, and they had the right & ability to stop the referee's and correct them about the ruling. So they carry the blame as well. https://twitter.com/ocollysports/status/774738432195047425

Or a ludacris delay of game call on a FG attempt at Minnesota.

+1

But that one was actually in the rule book, but it was the first time it had actually been called since 1896. ;-)

The issue was not the ING penalty, but rather by rule that is the last play of the game.

Foul up or not, CMU must've played a very fine game to be right there with the #22 team in the nation.

I flipped over to Ohio game after the 4th down play and missed the TD. I just wish it wasn't a "MAC" official getting the blame. After the Ohio delay of game call last year and Toledo/Syracuse game in 2011, it was nice to see the MAC get a game changing call in their favor

The crazy thing is that CMU really should have never been in that position in the first place. They were up 24-20 and picked off Oklahoma State in the end zone with under 7 minutes to play. They fumbled the very next play and the Cowboys eventually scored.

Once Cooper Rush threw the INT to essentially end the game, I flipped the channel because I thought there was no way they would get the ball back.

That play, btw, just put a HUGE wrinkle in Hail Mary passes. You basically have to cover with 10 guys and let one guy rush the passer. It wasn't really bad coverage by OkSt. They didn't let a guy get behind them. It was just a great play design by CMU.
