Who is going to score more in this one, the GW Offense or the Ohio Defense? Ohio D I could see with a pick 6 and a safety with GW limited to a field goal. GW is averaging 23ppg going 1-2 on a mediocre FCS schedule. GW Coach is going to watch that Ohio-Tennessee video and decide the best game plan is to pray for mercy.

Sagarin has G-W as #201 of 253 D-1 teams (FBS + FCS, combined). That's 8 spots lower than the Monmouth team that Kent just beat 27-7.

Hopefully we score touchdowns on our first 4 possessions and the backups take over by the middle of the 2nd quarter.

The biggest number I am concerned about is 0........as in 0 injuries. Don't need to get a guy out of the 110 to play running back!

Well Sagarin has their schedule rated 207th in the country. Mediocre might be a good word.
Oh, welcome aboard my friend. Let's have a good injury free game in Saturday. Are you coming up for the game?

Here's a strange scenario if Brown and Irons are out...obviously Papi and Emanuele will get their carries on Saturday. If we are blowing this team out what does Frank do with the running game? We need My Cousin Vinny and Papi Seed to be healthy so he has to take them out right? You can't use Hardy because he's needed in the defensive backfield. Do you convert someone to be a fullback who can tote the ball some? Is there anyone on the roster who isn't essential who could do that? Or do you sling it with Maxwell throwing to Ball, Odom, Harris and Belack?

After all the close games in games with large point spreads, showing disrespect for Gardner Webb wouldn't be my modus operandi. If Ohio doesn't come to play, it could be closer than you think. We should win comfortably, but look, Nicholls came within 2 pts of Georgia.

Here here! I read the exact same stuff about us all week in Knoxville. I agree we should win comfortably, but I'm sure GW will not roll over. GW is a nice campus, by the way. Spent a weekend there last fall.

Didn't Jacob Koons play some FB in high school? Bo Hardy would be the other option, even though he has shown well at DB.

One of the frosh WRs played RB his whole is senior year. Not to mention the TE recruit, Conrad I think.

Right, Jeff. So far 7 FCS teams have knocked off FBS teams - including South Alabama topping Mississippi State, Eastern Washington topping Washington State and last Saturday North Dakota State knocking off Iowa. Three MAC teams have fallen to FCS teams.

Has there been any firm timelines on Irons' and/or Brown's return(s)?

We can probably play with who we have this week and not face any issues.

Sure are going to need them for MAC play. We will likely go into Oxford to take on a winless Miami team. Will we take their best shot or get a team that has packed it in? The narrative for them will be "new season-starts now" I'm sure. They do play UC tough, though.

The next five games are definitely take care of business weeks. If they want to get to Detroit they need to start a 5 game winning streak this Saturday to take up to our house of horrors.

Schedule is definitely back-loaded and may set up for an all the marbles game against the Fighting Kangaroos in the regular season finale.

Get and stay healthy Cats!

Solich said at press conference today that both Irons and Brown are questionable. Both could play, one or neither. Hardy will practice some at running back but they will try to avoid playing him there.

That would be Ball. He would be like White, though, more speed than power.

South Alabama is in the Sun Belt.

Ball the previous year, he being a RS Fr.

I was thinking Keevon Harris, "Played running back and wide receiver at LaBrae High School where he set single season records with 22 rushing touchdowns, 28 total touchdowns, 1,620 rushing yards and 2,180 all purpose yards...."

Conrad. "Recorded 1,215 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns as a wide receiver and running back at Keystone High School."

With the pressure our D line put on Kansas and TN, I wouldn't worry much about the secondary this week. Not dissin G-W, but we gave both teams fits. We shut down their running games and were in the backfield all afternoon. I think it's more important to run the ball and control the clock. I'd be for Hardy in the offensive backfield this week.

No offense to him, but I'm hoping someone other than Zervos is our leading scorer (or A scorer) this week

Garner-Webb has only thrown for 108 yards per game this year, while rushing for 272. I think Ohio will force them to try to do what they aren't very comfortable doing.

He could still be the East ST POW with, say, 6-6 PATs and a FG.

Also, The Citadel may be overrated. They won at Mercer (1-2), 24-23, and at home vs. Furman (0-3), 19-14.

Still, we'll never take you guys for granted. Solich isn't that way.
