Per Arkley tweet- Solich says "It looks like a costly injury."

The icing on today's disgusting cake. The sky has fallen.

Not taking from AJ's contributions, but it's the one position group they can handle an injury with maybe the least drop off.

You may be right, but he was also by far the best bet to gain tough yards when he had to.

What--Papi up the middle in key moments isn't working for you?

AJ is a true down hill runner. There are other nice talents at RB, but AJ was that down hill guy who takes tough yards.

Last I heard he could be back later in the season. But that raises another question, when?

Coach Solich's weekly press conference is in about 20 minutes. I'm sure the question will be asked.

I heard it was a foot injury, something about a ligament issue.

Frank said AJ's injury is indeed a foot injury and he didn't rule him out for the season. Sounds like he's going to miss some time though.

He has yet to red-shirt. A.J.'s run behind Irons was a thing of beauty. Would have been the same with Brown or White at RB. Irons was the key. Irons rolling the LB reminded me of Morsillo. Anyone ever expect me to hijack an A.J. thread toward Irons?

I hope it's sooner than later, we really need him. After watching that game I realized he is a huge part of our offense, yeah we have depth but not that talent he has my opinion tho. You could see the wind taken out of the sails after he left the game.

Huge blow if AJ doesn't return, although I suppose would be a shame to see him rush back to playing not at full strength if he does have a redshirt available. I know we have other RBs, especially this year, but he is invaluable to this team. Wouldn't have taken much to tip the scales in OUr favor the other day, and AJ could have done it numerous times. Get well soon!

Obviously you missed irons miss a 3rd and 1 and also a 4th and 1 and don't really pay attention to the game how he turns when he hits the holes and the way he blocks. Yes that block he made on AJs run was nice but that's about the only one. White is a slot receiver and brown is good on the outside but a better returner I think. AJ is the best all around back hands down and without him in there you will see how bad we need him.

Broken foot is what I heard but the MRI today will reveal all. This puts a crimp in the plans for lots of two back sets this year.

Wish we could point to more guys on the team who put forth the effort AJ appears to put forth.

Everyone can't be like that and I know that guys are trying, but AJ stands out.

Redshirt him and next season let the new coaching staff have a full cupboard of backfield talent.

I am not touting him with the ball, there was also his fumble having made a first down. I am touting him as a lead back. He has the tools to be a great lead blocker in the two back set.

Watching the game, I think the impact of losing A.J. was as much psychological as anything else.
I'm sure they "game planned" around him all through camp.

You start the game with a drop on sure T.D.,then add an injury to your top back on his first series and I think the team got psyched out.

The offense was able to overcome it in the second half.
Don't know what happened to the defense.

My opinion, assuming is able to come back this season, see how the offense does without him.
If they look O.K.,or things go completely south, redshirt may be the best option.

I hope AJ has a swift recovery. In the meantime, we'll see if Irons or Brown can develop fast, and grow into the position.

Can't help but think that if AJ had been in the game at the end of regulation, it would've been different. He flat-out doesn't fumble. Would've made for a much longer field and a lot less time for TxSt to tie the game.

Hope it's not as bad we've heard, but if it is they shouldn't blow the opportunity to redshirt him unless it's absolutely, positively necessary to get into the MACCG.
