Big opportunity to go 3-0 in the MAC. I definitely think the Bobcats are up to the challenge.

With Akron vs WMU a win by Ohio, doubly sweet.

Interesting battle will be the EMU O-line versus the Ohio D-line.

EMU is 4th in the country in fewest sacks allowed (4).

Ohio is 1st in the country in sacks (25).

I'd just like to see a cleaner game, penalty wise. Obviously there will be some, but limiting the 15 yarders and nonsense penalties would be great. We can't keep donating so much yardage to the opposition.

Very good point. Ohio recruits toughness. Eastern's new coach is building his "factory" mindset with "hammer" awards recognizing toughness. Eastern's OL features four RS Sr. returning starters. Eastern's OL totaled 123 returning starts, 5th most in FBS. Phil Steele rated Eastern's OL 3rd best in the MAC after #2 BG and #1 Toledo. I expext Ohio to get their sacks and Eastern to hold well enough on other downs for Roback to strike fear in Ohio fans. Like playing NIU. I still like Ohio 30-20.

Our secondary is going to be tested to the max on Saturday. Eastern has a veteran offensive line that has kept their quarterback standing allowing very few sacks or hits. They are ranked 4th in the country for sacks allowed. If they give that quarterback time to throw the football, our secondary will get their toughest test of the year so far. They also have a ground game to balance their attack. Our linebackers will have to have monster games to control their running game. Hopefully 32 will be able to play at close to full speed. Bobcats need to Bring It !

Two very similar teams in that regard. Ohio's averaging 10 yds per penalty (40 penalties for 400 yds); EMU averages 10.58 (381 yds on 36 penalties). Ohio averages 66.7 penalty yds per game; EMU averages 63.5. Ohio averages 6.7 penalties per game while EMU is at 6.

They even have similar numbers in opponents' penalties. Ohio's opponents average 10.2 yds per penalty (39 penalties for 399 yds); EMU's average 9.4 (39 penalties for 365 yds). Ohio's opponents have averaged 66.5 penalty yds per game while EMU's have averaged 60.8. Each team's opponents have averaged 6.5 penalties per game.

So Arkley says Poling is questionable for this game. That gives me some concern. Seems like when he's out we give up a lot of running yards. Ouch.

Is today band day? If not, expect a smaller than normal crowd. This town is dead this weekend. Went to Casa and walked right in for dinner last night before the show at Mem Aud. Looks like lots of students went home this weekend. Hopefully the lack of buzz doesn't extend to the gridiron.

It's a beautiful fall day in Athens. See you at the game.

Band Day

IMO this is the most important game of September/October on the schedule.

Vs BG we caught a team that had been the dominant east team for 3 years with a new coach and many new players. A home game and homecoming and it was important to take care of them and OHIO did.

Now another home game vs a team trying to leap frog the OHIO program; one of the most crappy pedigree on the grid iron for over 10 years. Coaching changes and some on here calling for the MAC to show Eastern the door.

OHIO has had 3 years to reload from a stellar level, same staff, new facilities, bowl history. This is a statement game, the team cannot let another team that came up from the dregs outclass them,--NOT IN OUr HOUSE! It may be different in the future if Eastern has built some consistency but no way should they compete as well as OHIO today.

Go Bobcats! Take care of business!

QB stretch keeper on 4th and less than 1 is tied for the worst playcall I have ever seen. I dont know what it's tied with, but it was bad.

That was brutal. And so was the entire half offensively.

It looks like panic on our part. Take it in the end zone and a block in the back. Yuck.

#21 has absolutely gotten his rear burned the whole game. And #7 needs to tone his act down. Thinks every play he makes is so unreal that he needs to showboat. Play football dude, you're good, but just play football. How ehhhh it is to see it all the time.
