Time for all you doubters to start believing. You're missing a heck of a run to a MACC.

And everyone thought Toledo was going to crush Ohio too and look what happened. It's why you play the games. Crazy things happen in the MACC. The pressure will all be on whoever Ohio plays.

I was pleasantly surprised with the performance last night and yes it is a great win. I still have doubts. Call me what you will, but I was in the stands during the Texas St game. I was in the stands for the EMU game. I can't forget what I saw in person. Can this team make it to Detroit and have a chance at a MAC title? Absolutely. Could this team lose to Buffalo and Akron? Absolutely. You said it yourself, it's why you play the games. I gave Buffalo no shot against Akron last night and it was a blowout for Buffalo. We are not consistent enough quarter to quarter, let alone week to week, to assume we're ending up in Detroit with this much football left to play.

Am I excited? Am I cautiously optimistic? Yes on both. But I can't unsee the bad from this season and think we are going to coast to the MAC title game.
Yup and yup. Totally agree. Great win....one of best in Solich era. But win means nothing if you fall flat at home vs. UB or fail to close this out with a trip to Detroit. I think everyone on this board would agree a trip to Detroit would be a nice accomplishment...and most would likely not expect Ohio to beat WMU. Again, crazier things have happened...but even someone blackout drunk on the green kool-aid can't watch WMU and think Ohio is in the same ballpark. They steamrolled Ball last night and it looked like they were playing in cruise control.

(and just a sidenote...WMU hasn't clinched a trip to Detroit quite yet. Toledo still has a chance to pick itself up off the mat and upset WMU on T'giving Friday to win the MAC West....just a possibility in the topsy-turvy MAC)

Toledo has to win all its games until that game to make that happen. They have a nice offense, not so sure about their defense. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose before the WMU game. We'll see if I'm wrong.

IF Ohio punches a ticket to Detroit, that gives a three day rest/prep advantage over the Toledo/WMU winner. I'd feel guilty about the advantage if we weren't so screwed on the regular season schedule. 10 straight weeks with no bye, then just a partial bye before CMU.
