Time for all you doubters to start believing. You're missing a heck of a run to a MACC.

God bless you but unless WMU really stubs its toe, they will win the MACC. There's no other competition. They will crush Ohio.

But hey I've been wrong so far, so yeah book it, Ohio will win the MACC.

Great win, I will eat my crow. But....the buffs had 378 yds rushing tonight we'd better spy the qb. Take em one at a time.

And everyone thought Toledo was going to crush Ohio too and look what happened. It's why you play the games. Crazy things happen in the MACC. The pressure will all be on whoever Ohio plays.

Very true! If Ohio can beat a #20 ranked team w/ a redshirt freshman QB that's a real accomplishment.

The doubters will just not post for a week, waiting for better days.

I have believed that this can be a great Ohio team. They have looked great at times, and not so great at other times, but they continue to improve, and it's not time to stop getting better. They need to improve all the way to the end of the season.

Uh, L.C., please see my post above. this is a very good win and I am proud of the players and coaches. but we still have a ways to go! the buffs rushed for 378 yards so we better get healthy quickly and put a spy on the buffs qb. thank God its our home game, I think?!?

Maybe it's because I'm sitting here in Cleveland, OH but it looks like Ohio's hopes rest with Maxwell's health. I shudder to think what would happen if he got hurt.

Buffalo has proven that they can play, and will be a real handful next week. The Bobcats will have to bring the game that we saw tonight in Toledo to get a win, and we will have to do it with only one QB who has any game experience. Windham gave us a lift tonight and will be missed as we prepare for the Buffs.

Casper, you are not who i was referring to. You just want the Bobcats to win the MACC, and I'm right there with you. Go Bobcats.

We played very well tonight.

That some of us doubt, however, is a very reasonable reaction to the way that the last four years have gone.

If we continue playing as we did tonight, we can have a very fine year.

That said, this year, as in the past 3.5 years, there were Texas State, EMU and too close wins over Miami and BG.

So, we'll see.

See my more complete thoughts...good and bad...elsewhere.

That's what happens when you don't come to play in MACtion. Bowden could drop the next 3 games to finish 5-7.

The only more complete thoughts I see expressed here on tonight's games are by fake you. Is that what you are referring to?

We did not play great and neither did Toledo, but we won. We gave up 450 passing yards. This was that character win that we needed. We needed to close a good team out and we did. The best thing was the aggressive coaching, finally the relentless belief. I loved Frank's comments at the end, we need to clean it up. Way to go cats.

OCF--No; you'll find it elsewhere.

I know that you're kidding, OCF, but that almost saddens me.

You see, my acknowl that tonight was a good win is me recognizing the evident facts no matter my personal beliefs.

What saddens me is that you've been unable to do that in very large part for the last 2 or 3 years.

Don't worry we'll find new things to doubt later on. ;)

Can't we all just enjoy this win for now?

I was pleasantly surprised with the performance last night and yes it is a great win. I still have doubts. Call me what you will, but I was in the stands during the Texas St game. I was in the stands for the EMU game. I can't forget what I saw in person. Can this team make it to Detroit and have a chance at a MAC title? Absolutely. Could this team lose to Buffalo and Akron? Absolutely. You said it yourself, it's why you play the games. I gave Buffalo no shot against Akron last night and it was a blowout for Buffalo. We are not consistent enough quarter to quarter, let alone week to week, to assume we're ending up in Detroit with this much football left to play.

Am I excited? Am I cautiously optimistic? Yes on both. But I can't unsee the bad from this season and think we are going to coast to the MAC title game.

I will admit, after last night it was nice to see the coaching staff attempt to be unpredictable on offense. At times I was wondering where the reverse came from and Toledo got thrown off heavily by it. They were utilizing plays to open up those draw plays they usually run (aka-hey diddle diddle, ______ up the middle). That's what's been lacking from the offense and was really nice to see for the Bobcats.

That said, running options to the short side of the field is asking for it. That's how you get a qb rocked during a game with the pursuit angle being so small. Snapping also was a small problem last night, but get those corrected we hang 50 on UT. On defense, our secondary leaving gaps consistently where our safeties bit on play action time and time again did us no favors, especially on that 98 yard touchdown play. So yes, small things that can be corrected for, but was pleased to see Maxwell hitting on some long balls. It's one of those things that the freshman is going to learn how to put the ball on the money at some point, just needs that game experience.

There is something to be said for defeating Toledo, Bowling Green, Miami and Kent State all in the same season. The last time Ohio did that was 1968.

+1

And Windham was "Yuge" off the bench, "Yuge".

Yup and yup. Totally agree. Great win....one of best in Solich era. But win means nothing if you fall flat at home vs. UB or fail to close this out with a trip to Detroit. I think everyone on this board would agree a trip to Detroit would be a nice accomplishment...and most would likely not expect Ohio to beat WMU. Again, crazier things have happened...but even someone blackout drunk on the green kool-aid can't watch WMU and think Ohio is in the same ballpark. They steamrolled Ball last night and it looked like they were playing in cruise control.

(and just a sidenote...WMU hasn't clinched a trip to Detroit quite yet. Toledo still has a chance to pick itself up off the mat and upset WMU on T'giving Friday to win the MAC West....just a possibility in the topsy-turvy MAC)
