Toledo's drive for its second td was a beauty.

But WMU.

Two teams here which will litter the ALL-MAC teams upon which OHIO will have what, 20 or 30 guys?!

I haven't seen WMU hardly at all before today. But when you reach this stage of the year without a defeat, it's usually for a reason.

Anyone just hear the comment about WMU students wearing MSU and UM shirts around campus 4 years ago and how that is rarely seen today? Now that is change I can tip my hat too given the effort that takes.

I think we have to give them Best Fans in the MAC when compared to our game for a division championship!

WMU. (My man OCF, please note.)
Duly noted.

If I were a WMU fan, I'd be really, really worried.

Dude--Can you smell what the Monroe is cookin'?!

WMU has some players, some excitement. Can we beat them? Possibly, but...

Can you see the contrast between moribund, boring, stale and doing the do!

WMU player gets carted off the field late in the game while in obvious pain. As the cart started driving, the crowd applauded for him. He started rowing the boat on his way to the hospital and the crowd goes crazy and chants Row The Boat. Fleck's energy is infectious. He sprints down the field between quarters with his players. Watching this game has me more convinced than ever that WMU can name the score next week.

Yeah, w/ Boise St. losing and a New year's Bowl staring WMU in the face, Fleck will have WMU laser-focused.

I'm sure you'll be on suicide watch if we win.

If we ever had a season like they did, it would be a madhouse in Athens.

Good call, my man! Now, follow it up with a predicted score of OHIO vs WMU. It's your chance to gain real street cred.

That is 100%, exactly the point.

Now, in order to have a season like that, we need to start from a base of understanding that it will take less than four losses every year....which means....

OCF--No idea. If I knew, I'd be retired and I'd own Las Vegas. Of course, we could win or lose in a mighty close one. But I see real spark players for WMU who are able to engage that spark excitement. And they do it consistently (well, did so today). In contrast, I don't see many of our guys consistently making big plays. I see boring and inability to adjust on our side.

I see too much potential for overwhelm and befuddlement.

Now I am a glass half full kinda guy. I will proudly tell anyone how few students wore Bobcat apparel around campus and back home compared to 2016. I will regale the youngsters of how my roommate and me actually counted the number of people in the stands in the 2nd half of the 1986 season ending game with Northern Illinois, in which we won our only game of the season. At the conclusion of the game, there weren't enough students to tear down the goal posts, though a valiant effort was put forth.

Now we have ESPN TV coverage and title shots, complete with a trip to Ford Field and a bowl game birth. It gives me great pride to see how far we come, but looking at the Western Michigan crowd in a post Thanksgiving game compared to our paltry crowd last Tuesday (paltry might be generous,) we still have a ways to go. I dare say you will see as many people or more at a regional high school playoff game with a traditional power like Cincy St. Xavier, Cleveland St. Ignatius, or Columbus St. Francis DeSales. The Western Michigan game day ESPN crowd last week and their crowd this week gives us something for which to strive.

I'd argue that our ceiling is higher than their ceiling. If we ever got to the point of hosting College Gameday and being in the Top 25, you'll see scalpers on every corner. Despite consistent 7-8 win seasons, there just isn't much "sizzle" with the "steak" so to speak.

It's a poor comparison. Our game was on a Tuesday night. Friday night games would always out draw Tuesdays. We've done well with football attendance. The midweek games kill attendance all around the MAC.

I rarely disagree with you Jeff, but this might be one of those times. You're right in the sense that Tuesday not a great game draw. However, a Friday the day after Thanksgiving isn't one either. Also, I dread seeing what some high school playoff games attendance figures would be compared to the second half of Tuesday's game (the power high schools I mentioned in my last post.)

Again, I am a glass half full guy, but we pride ourselves on being the beacon on MAC attendance and for some reason as of late our attendance has been a little disappointing. Imagine if we didn't have ticket promos like we do? Look at some of those dreadful Big Ten & Big 12 teams playing this weekend, look at their attendance figures. Something to ponder as we try to showcase all we could be.

..I'll continue to support the team and school in many ways, much like I have the three previous times when we've played for the MACC and lost. The big difference is, your agenda/platform (and an unbelievable number of redundant posts) are based on the idea that OHIO is grossly underachieving and that we can't win the MACC with this staff, so when we do, you'll look rather foolish. It makes me wonder if you really do want us to win...since it flies in the face of about 5,298 of your posts.
