If WMU loses (today or next week), it throws the NY6 pick into a little bit of chaos. Navy is the next highest ranked G5 team that controls its own destiny, but they still have to play a conference championship game and Army.
The other ranked G5 teams are Houston, who has been eliminated from conference championship contention, and Boise State, who would be eliminated with a loss to Air Force today or a Wyoming win tomorrow.
It might be possible that there are no ranked G5 champions*. I'm not sure what happens then.
*I guess that also means it's technically possible we could play in one of the NY6 bowls...it would require something like:
1. WMU winning today and then us romping next Friday by 30+
2. Navy losing this week, winning the AAC championship game, and then losing to Army
3. Marshall beating WKU, and ODU winning tomorrow and then winning the CUSA championship game
4. Wyoming and Boise State both lose this weekend, with Wyoming claiming the division based on tiebreakers, and Wyoming beating San Diego State in the MWC championship game.
5. Ark State splits its last two games but beats App State on tiebreakers to win the Sun Belt.
