Who do you think wins the game to play us?

I picked Toledo from the beginning of the season and I think they pull the upset here. Toledo 38. - WMU 35. Rockets vs Cats again in the MACC.

Interesting game ExCat21. I think WMU loses one of the next 2 games. Not sure which one it will be but I think both UT and OHIO are tired of hearing about PJ and rowing the boat. I am.

Frank is very capable of putting a plan together for a single game. I hope we finally make it happen.

One advantage Toledo has is it'll be nine days since their last game to only six for WMU. WMU has had some sluggish starts in the past month, so if Toledo starts fast they could do it. Should be a good one.

Western, better record. Toledo, IMHO, has been working harder at the end of the season. I would rather Ohio play Western than Toledo a second time. No matter, I like Toledo over Western.

No way Fleck lets his team take their eye off the prize. WMU wins 35-21.

Logan Woodside is a Heisman candidate with 40 TD passes this season. If they soread WMU I think they can pull it off. WMU has not seen a passing team like Toledo. I can not wait for this game no matter who wins!

I've been saying that folks shouldn't just assume WMU wins this, so I'll go with Toledo. Both teams are very good, so I wouldn't be surprised that it goes down to the wire in a high scoring game.

Interesting point you made. WMU wins they are already ranked. Toledo wins and moves to 10-2 and could crack Top 25 with the win only loss to us and BYU. Not sure if they would give Toledo that much love but they make get some votes to crack Top 25 if they did.

This has the makings of a great football game! I have liked Toledo all season long, and will not be surprised if they can pull this off. Either way, it should be a great game to watch and enjoy! Turnovers could very well determine the winner of this one.

Totally agree with ExCat21, I think Toledo sneaks by WMU and wins the west today. I think it could be a thrilling, high scoring game. Essentially the opposite of the game we watched on Tuesday.

Toledo wins 31-30!

If WMU loses (today or next week), it throws the NY6 pick into a little bit of chaos. Navy is the next highest ranked G5 team that controls its own destiny, but they still have to play a conference championship game and Army.

The other ranked G5 teams are Houston, who has been eliminated from conference championship contention, and Boise State, who would be eliminated with a loss to Air Force today or a Wyoming win tomorrow.

It might be possible that there are no ranked G5 champions*. I'm not sure what happens then.

*I guess that also means it's technically possible we could play in one of the NY6 bowls...it would require something like:

1. WMU winning today and then us romping next Friday by 30+
2. Navy losing this week, winning the AAC championship game, and then losing to Army
3. Marshall beating WKU, and ODU winning tomorrow and then winning the CUSA championship game
4. Wyoming and Boise State both lose this weekend, with Wyoming claiming the division based on tiebreakers, and Wyoming beating San Diego State in the MWC championship game.
5. Ark State splits its last two games but beats App State on tiebreakers to win the Sun Belt.

If no G5 champion is ranked in the top25, the committee will extend their ranking as far as is necessary to capture one...though I suspect that in practice they would just rank the 5 G5 champs against one another, then make up an overall ranking after the fact

WMU to win.

Toledo's offense will have to score in the 40's to win. They are capable however WMU has a very good defense.

Toledo's defense will have a tough time not getting pounded by WMU's diverse tools of the Bronco offense. Of course, WMU could stub its toe a few times and take a while to getting going. Perhaps a dumb call or two like Akron tried to pull on OHIO--2nd and two near field goal territory on the first drive and they choose a reverse which obviously starts deep and wound up with a deep yardage loss. Plays like that in a final analysis can be game changers.

Pick 6 then Woodside takes them down. This is definitely going to be a shoot out!

Western Michigan is showing how a championship team should play. At least that is the case in the first quarter. Execution, hustle, confidence.

So far 17-7 WMU.

A couple of things:

1) I'm no college football player but if I were I'd love to play for Fleck-loved watching him run down the field between the 1st and the 2nd quarter.

2) say what you will on whether Ohio underachieved this year, but it is GREAT to hear that the winner of this game plays Ohio in the MACC!

Oh, and Kareem Hunt's a freakin' beast now that he's healthy again!

Houston dropped another game earlier today against Memphis, further tarnishing Navy's win. Boise State is about to go down to Air Force losing by 2 TD's in the 4th. WMU I think is looking pretty good.

Boise on its own 10 down 7 points uses two passing plays to get on the Air Force 5 yard line. First and goal with 3 minutes to go and can't convert the TD in 4 attempts. What a massive goal line stand by Air Force.

Both Boise and Houston lose. The door is wide open for WMU for a New Year's Day bowl game, if they win out.
