"There was a chain of football players, before and after (the individual cases), that were involved in drug trafficking." -Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn, 5/7/14

"The defendant (Tarell Basham) was observed urinating next to an APD cruiser where officers had to step in the defendant's urine into the cruiser. This was on North Court Street next to the diner in plain view of everyone on the sidewalk." -Athens Police officer Neal Dicken, 2/6/16

"Facts are facts and will not disappear on account of your likes." -Jawaharlal Nehru

A wise man once said, "Let he who has never sought out a dark corner just off Court Street to take a leak, cast the first stone."

Not condoning actions at all, that's for sure, but uh students have been urinating by the police cars on the street since at least the 80's. When she was a student, my wife saw 2 girls literally copping a squat (ba dum bum) by police cruisers from her bedroom window on N. College one night.

And agreed CMoney. Myself? Uh I plead the 5th.......

We are not seriously trying to excuse that kind of behavior, are we?

Excuse, No.

Understand... Yes.

You never broke a few laws as a young man?

Not really.

Certainly not in public..not adjacent to a law officer's vehicle.

A little common sense is all it takes.

A secluded area for urinating is never very far away in Athens.

Agreed. But I don't think there's such a thing as common sense late night on Court Street.

APD don't like it, but APD horses, don't see what the big deal is all about.

I wonder if the dramatic drop in alcohol arrests and alcohol offenses referred to judiciaries has anything to do with the alcohol policy of probation then suspension/explusion and the reduced enforcement of alcohol violations.
