That effort most years wins the MAC title.

Nothing to hang their heads about. Theybplayed a fantastic game.

Now, let's go win a bowl game.
Came here to post something similar. I hope that intensity carries over into the bowl game because if it does, I think the season will end on a high note. Great game tonight.

Typical OHIO fanbase, lets congratulate a team that had every opportunity to win after they lost. When you have an opportunity to win, please close the deal. NIU in 2011 (think that was the year) and tonight they had every chance to win. Get there were many challenges tonight. Get our team played hard! Guess I just dont give a free pass on losing. Win a F_ _ _ ing MAC Title. Dont make the thousand excuses that many other MAC teams over the last 48 years have managed to overcome. Hate when we pat everyone on the back year after year for failing to meet the objective, especially when given every opportunity to meet that objective. I appreciate the effort or our guys/coaches tonight, but when given a prime opportunity to be champions, they failed yet again. Sorry if you dont like the evaluation, but this is pass/fail, and we failed.
Transfer to Akron.

With 7 minutes to go in the game, I was glad we put a real good show on for the world.

With 30 seconds to go in the game, I was pissed we lost.

I hate this f***ing sport sometimes.

Go Bobcats. Thank you seniors. You did more than many of us thought possible, and you've got one more game to wear the hunter green.

Earlier in the thread I wrote about how this could an historic game, a changing of the guard between two totally different coaches from different eras. Their team's performances reflected that tonight. We came up a bit short, but while they clearly had talent edge, we had the heart and perseverance.

I hope the Broncos go to the Cotton bowl and take a little of our perseverance and heart with them. I would hope that a couple of bowls saw our performance and realize we would make a great team for their bowl.

Between Fleck's interview on the field and the one just now from the ESPN studio he seems to be not the classiest guy. Not sour grapes on my part but I didn't hear him say a single word about how tough of a game it was or even mention us. It was all about the Cotton Bowl. And although they may deserve it most coaches would at least complement the opponent. Even giving up the 70 yard TD to Davis we held them to their lowest point total since their 1st game.
Agreed. He annoyed the hell outta me all game.

He may want to campaign for the Cotton bowl but this game may knock them down a notch in the polls. They are an excellent MAC team but not a #17 in the country.

I think our corner injuries certainly got exposed tonight. That unit should be galaxies better next year. Anyone see Maxwell Howell all year?

You said exactly what I was thinking. This good game attitude is why OU will never have a great program. They will finish 8-6 this year. That's not good enough . Oh well there's aleays basketball.

What a fantastic effort! Playing a top-rated team in a hostile environment, they could easily have folded in the second half but didn't. This team has plenty of heart, and showed it tonight. Proud of this team.

Didn't expect to see PJ sweating bullets in the last minute but our guys had him definitely worried. Second-lowest point total this season for WMU, and lowest among MAC teams. It'll be interesting to see how the committee views this.

Would've liked to have seen more innovative play calling, especially when it became obvious that anybody UTM wasn't working. Reverses, end runs or flea-flickers would've helped keep WMU off balance. Let's open things up in the bowl game.

The system doesn't leave him any choice but tp spend time politicking. That committee is looking for any and every opening to slip Navy in there because they have a national following being a service academy, plus a recent record of being pretty good. Any 13-0 MAC coach has to plead his case 24/7 because the playoff committee's primary charge is to get good money teams in bowls.

One can congratulate the team and still be disappointed in the results. Don't see anyone making excuses. Team got beat by a better team. Players left it on the field. No moral victory. Just a loss i would shake the hand of each player. You can do as you wish.

Ohio9704, we are all frustrated, but I didn't see anyone making excuses. They were the better team, we came up a bit short after a valiant effort. Western Michigan has the most NFL talent of any team we have played this year, and we beat a Power 5 School. Why are you taking out your frustrations against the Bobcat fan base?

Hmmm, when was Ohio ever a football school? Never has been and never will be. And we all fell in love with it regardless. Have a a Snickers bar and just enjoy the ride, you'll be much happier that way.

Thought Windham downfield was the best chance. Wide plays were going to get run down. A few more completions, better throws, to Papi and this has a different ending. Not saying Ohio threw the game away, credit to Western, too much Terrell & Davis. Western tried a reverse, T. Davis ate it up. Championship defenses, both teams had them, do that.

That was a painful ending, that Ohio couldn't make just a couple more plays. The championship was within reach. But as many have said, I loved the effort. The team played great against a really strong opponent.

Let's go get the bowl win.

Impressive game by Ohio, I thought. Stout defense, made enough plays on offense to be in it at the end. This wasn't a situation where Ohio choked or anything, they just came up a little short against a very good team.

I wish our team tackled as well as Ohio did.

Windham's fight tonight made me proud especially afer all the ups and downs he's gone through this year. I think it's a good learning experience for Maxwell having watched what it will take to win the MACC. If we carry this effort over to the bowl game I will feel a lot better going into next year.
