Way to go Blair Brown. I'm actually going to have to pay attention to the NFL draft this year.
I will read it off a list when it's all done, which is more exciting than actually watching it.

And takes a heck of a lot less time.

The first three rounds are interesting because there's quite a lot of discussion regarding the kids as they are drafted. And there are a few surprises. I'll never forget Kiper's conniption about Mike Mitchell being drafted so high. Rounds 4-7, not so much. The talking heads still focus on the guys who went in the first three rounds, so you need to watch the crawl for names of interest. The guys in 4-7 -- unless there are some big names -- are discussed in clusters and given about two seconds each.

Yeah, Spiro Agnew.

If you favor Trump, I can see why Agnew would be of appeal.

http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/vice-president...

You should be ashamed, trying to make corruption into a partisan issue. It's a real, and constant problem, and you can find all too many examples of corrupt people in both parties. The most corrupt case that ever happened in a state where I resided was the case of Ray Blanton, a former governor of Tennessee when I lived there. Here's a list of the top 10 most corrupt politicians of all time, and there are people from both parties on the list:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/lists/most_corrupt_polit... /

Nice off the rails. You guys brought up Agnew...who just happens to be a Repub.

If a Dem or anyone else had 'resigned in disgrace' my attitude (scorn) and, I hope yours, would be the same.

But, hey, nice trumpism in you bringing Agnew up and making me the bad guy for pointing out the facts/truth.

I was actually just trying to be a little humorous. Not comparing you to Agnew. Just saying that you resemble one of his most famous remarks.

OCF--I'm fine with that. I think that I've made about as much fun of me as has legitimately/nicely been made of me here. Gotta have a sense of humor. You did get the one the other day about me stating that I am, that I provide, an Anti-Stupidity Service here, right?!

But I've no idea why suddenly my pointing out that Agnew, a topic/person who someone else brought up, was less than a paragon was taken me as going off on one party.

We brought up Agnew as humor. You were the one who politicized it, comparing first him to Trump, and now comparing us to Trump. If you want facts/truth, go back and read my last post - corruption is, and always will be a serious problem, and it is a problem in both parties. While we condemn corrupt people (of both parties), that doesn't mean we can't also make fun of them. We can make fun of Agnew for skillfully delivering a powerful and convincing oratory about how he would never resign, and then immediately resigning. We can make fun of Ray Blanton, too:

It is truly heartbreaking to open this post and have to read about Trump and Agnew. Basham and Brown put in work and now we are back to focussing on our pocket protectors.

Ohio Catfan, you get a pass because you are almost 100 years old, you talk about whatever your heart desires. You can even praise Ben Carson if you want.

I'll apologize for my part in it. I tried to be funny, and someone tried to twist it into a partisan political debate. I don't consider myself to be either a Democrat or a Republican, and I don't consider corruption to be a partisan issue anyway, so I rejected it.

This thread should get back on track. I note that Brown has been moved up from 15th to the tenth rated ILB by nfldraftscout, and he's now projected by them to go in round 7, rather than him being a UFA.
http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=1...

They continue to rate Basham as the #7 DE, and project him for round 2:

that is awesome, two Bobcats in the top 10 in the country. I can see Bown moving up former, people say his tape is spectacular, he only missed two tackles all year. This guy says Brown could go in the fourth round. http://draftanalyst.com/riserssliders-week-nine

Maybe I'm dense...I didn't see much humor when I read the Agnew posts...well, at least the ones after the first one. Apologies--maybe next time indicate humor is being used as it wasn't surface evident....

Well, they say that if you have to explain a joke it wasn't funny, but what I was trying to make fun of was how ridiculous it was to masterfully deliver a speech to say "I will never resign", only to resign moments later. That has to go down as one of the most ridiculous speeches in American history. I searched youtube, but sadly they only have his actual resignation, and not the one that came just before it.

Think again about OCF's next post. The nicest thing he could say about Spiro was that he kept the garbage moving. I was pretty sure that was intended to be humorous, too. A guy that got as far as to be Vice President, and his most significant legitimate accomplishment was re-routing a garbage truck?

L.C., you caught perfectly the sense of my humor (such as it is) and what I was trying to convey with my Agnew followup. I was also trying to make light of his nattering nabobs of negativism remark with a good-natured jab at Monroe, who has been known to accentuate the negative on here from time to time.

Also, allen, I believe at least one other poster in this thread is closer to 100 than I am. It'll take me almost three more decades to get there, if the Good Lord should so desire.
