We have not had a guy as good as Joe Burrow was in high school at quarterback since I came here in 1979. That kid was/is the real deal at the D 1 level.
This is such an obnoxious post. 1. We have never had a QB who was as big of a stud as Burrow. 2. How is your post relevant? 3. Stud quarterbacks don't go to smaller schools, unless they have baggage. 4. I know you're going to make an arguement about him being the Coach's son, which has some merit. However, he is free to make his own decision, just like you are free to be a bitter old man about it.
Big Ben, Nate Davis. We had a guy verbal this year and opted to go James Madison, he had offers from bigger schools. You are speaking from feelings and not facts. Please don't cast your marginalized persona on our program.
Well to find these kind of kids you have to know your turf. I will say it again, we do not recruit our own territory effectively. Sure you can point to all the Ohio kids on our roster. How many of those kids were scholarship out of the gate and not a walkon or a transfer? That's where my problem lies. Out of our initial 25 man recruiting class, we do not do a great job of hammering Ohio. Instead we rely on walk-ons who we give scholarships to time and time again. Not saying this is an awful strategy, but of our initial 25 how good do we truly do of striking gold versus striking out?
And sure, some of you can say the talent in this state wasn't good enough for Ohio State, they only signed 9 kids in-state. That said, look at how many of those kids left Ohio for schools outside of the state or Cincinnati. At our level, we don't do that great of a job cleaning up Ohio.
