Bump . . . it's getting close to decision time for Malik Zaire. Someone should start a countdown clock! ;-)
Come on Zaire

It's after mid-April and still no word . . . perhaps, he's decided to declare for the NBA draft. It's been reported that he was a star in basketball in high school and was considered to have "NBA talent."

Orrrrrrrrr....Maybe Tony Campbell got that 6th year but decided to use it on the gridiron instead of the hardwood.

Or, maybe both!

He was a high school QB and pretty good one. This is BA out-of-the box thinking at its finest!

Sounds reasonable. Why would they change a requirement to a lower standard?

If he wants to play, he needs to come here. We have a spot and some fast wide receivers for him to throw to. If he loses the competition at Florida, he has no shot at the NFL.

Speaking of Tennessee, why not toss Jalen Hurd into the mystery transfer mix. He'd fit the "stud playmaker" description. ;)
Hurd to Baylor. He has to sit out next year since he isn't a graduate transfer.

Will he move to wideout?

Has there been any rumors or anything saying Malik is considering OU?

It probably can't be Morris since it was reported on Jan 3 that he hasn't interviewed or visited with programs:

And Zaire isn't deciding until April. So Morris and Zaire are out, then.

We can piece together more clues. If it were Rourke the tweets would have mentioned his name (no reason to be cagey about a guy who has already signed). We also know it's got to be a big name to merit "Christmas came early." Plus, it must be a current junior or senior to make the grad transfer possible. Finally, since it hasn't been made public already, it's likely the QB's team is still playing.

Put all that together and...it can only be Deshaun Watson. When you've eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
At the time of the tweet, Zaire had not yet given his mid-April timeline.

There have been many rumors. The legitimacy of these rumors is widely debated across the Bobcat nation.

A big football transfer sure would make the Simmons transfer a little easier to take, but I'm not counting on it.

Considering that the most direct evidence that Zaire is considering us is that he liked one of Simmons' tweets, we might as well assume Zaire is going to Michigan as well.

Safe assumption, but we might want to have Buckeye to Bobcat check his inside sources before assuming anything, ever again.

We can finally send this thread to Siberia. Zaire announces his list is down to Florida, Texas, Wisconsin, and Harvard.

Ah. I think you found the one flaw in my otherwise perfect reasoning. That explains why Deshaun declared for the draft.

That's "code talk" for Harvard on the Hocking! How could you be so blind to not figure that one out? You're usually so much more perceptive . . .

Agreed. If anything, I'm more convinced now that Ohio will be Zaire's landing spot.

NEVER! "Zaire to ___________" is the new "TOS to _____________" but for player transfers instead of head coaches.
