Can fall camp roster answer any questions?

This sucks if this is accurate! How are we always considered at the top of the East or near the top yet we have not had a number 1 quarterback since Tettleton? We have gone through this since T2 left where coach Solich talks about the "leader in the clubhouse" but he always says another guy is our "running QB." Just settle on one guy and let him do this thing. Vick vs. Sprague vs. Windham vs. Maxwell. It's driving me crazy to think we are so good yet so inept at finding a top No. 1 guy.

It's one of the great mysteries of our time: why can't we attract a top-caliber QB with our established brain trust of Tim Albin and Scott Ipshording?

Maybe we just need to start realizing that this who Ohio is. Out of how many years in the Solich regime has Ohio had a true #1?

Maxwell has made strides from lady year and has improved, and Rourke continues to look better and better as he learns the offense. Ohio is in very solid shape at QB. Remember, this is the same team that was about 30 yards away from wining the MAC Championship against an undefeated and ranked team last year with a QB who was third on the depth chart prior to fall camp. It's no secret what Ohio's bread and butter is: good defense, solid running game, strong kicking and steady QB play. Mixing in both to give teams a different look and something else to gameplan for has been part of Solich's scheme for years now. Ohio will be more than okay at the QB position.

I saw the kid from woub tweeted Rourke was pretty impressive yesterday. I have no clue what that means or what he knows about the QB position but I am desperate for content.

I could give you reasons why I think that Maxwell, Rourke, Keszei, and Mischler are better than the quarterbacks that Gdowski recruited, but it wouldn't matter. The proof is in the performance, and we'll have to see how they look on the field. In any case, here's a list of QB recruits which I think is more or less accurate:

Note 1: I do notice that Maxwell is the first Freshman who played enough to attempt that many passes.

I was wondering the same earlier, how OU hasn't landed an in-state kid who has a ton of mobility. If people believe in Isohording as much as they do, shouldn't he be able to take a kid with raw talent and polish that talent into a more complete QB? Ohio is a talent rich state with a ton of great football players. It's crazy to think there isn't at least a few kids who could come here and shred some MAC schools. I'm fine with the QB's we have now, but in the future I would love to see some in-state guys stay home and suit up on Saturday's for the Cats

My personal opinion is that Maxwell has the size and raw potential you want, plus he has a ton of heart, and he's an extremely hard worker. I believe that his Freshman year was better than any recent QB's, and he'll improve from there, and that in close games he'll find ways to win. That still may not be enough for him to hang onto the job, because I believe Rourke is going to develop into something outstanding, and Keszei may be special as well, but I think as a true Freshman he'll benefit from a redshirt year.

As for why Ohio can't get any QBs from Ohio, on that I don't know. They have gotten a few as walkons, but no scholarship players at all since Febus.
