When you have some of the diehardiest fans here on this site commenting about the gameday experience at Peden (apathetic fans in the stands, band shows that are below normal standards, cheerleaders who can't do pushups, concessions that people concede are bad and high single game ticket prices) becoming an issue, perhaps it is time to look into it further. Otherwise, it doesn't matter who you schedule or what your record is, less people will want to come to Peden.
Maybe the diehardiest fans just love to bitch. More than one of the serial offenders complain about both sides of competing issues:

- People are too apathetic AND people shouldn't stand and get in my way
- Ticket prices are way too high AND student fees are unfair
- We never get P5 teams in Peden AND I hate the P5 teams we get in Peden
- Not enough students show up AND I hate how long students stay and how they act while they're in the stands

Lately it feels like half the posts or more revolve around complaining. Maybe that's the nature of message boards, but it wasn't always the nature of this message board.
Just think about how the board would be if someone hadn't been banished.

Only half?

There are several posters who are always pointing out negative stuff. Its their schtick. I have a good buddy like that and I laugh, sometimes egg him on for fun, and then keep on keeping on.

....Wait, did someone in this thread suggest the 110 play jazz or showtunes? My god.... No.....

First off,I said the 110 made their reputation playing rock.

They seem to getting away from rock and going more in a "pop" direction.
In a lot of instances, like last Saturday, that doesn't seem to be working.

If the 110 isn't going to stick with rock, then yes,I do feel there is jazz that fits their style.
"Birdman" by Maynard Ferguson comes to mind.If you can find it on Youtube,The Crossmen Drum Corps did a great version of it.

In fact,in the past, the 110 used to reference "Maynard Ferguson style arrangements".

I never said "show tunes".
I said "show music".There's a difference.
I was referring to any music used in the entertainment industry including t.v. shows and movies.

The 110 did a "Rocky" show that went over well.

If you want a Broadway show that the 110 could "sample",check out Blast. Malaguena (the music, not the drill) fits the 110's style.

And as far as different styles,I don't know if anyone here is old enough to remember how "worried"/"shocked" people were when the 110 decided to do "Bridge Over Troubled Water" because it didn't fit their style.

I was just making a little fun. That's all. Bridge Over Troubled Water. Man, was that a snooze fest. I'm sure some liked it though.

Every time I follow the football team on the road to a non-MAC game and the 110 is there, a fan from the other side approaches me and says "well, your band won." Seriously. Every. Time. I have a friend who was in a P5 school's band. Did all the stuff you see P5 bands like Ohio State do. Traveled all over. Bowl games. NCAA tourney for hoops -- multiple sweet 16s and a final 4. Etc. Every time she sees the 110 she says she is way jealous. The 110 ain't no problem for me. I'll get out of the way now and let SBH and etc. do what they do. Carry on.

From what I was told at the time,"Bridge" was the first time the 110 did a full length ballad.

I was also told they did it to prove they could "handle" a ballad.
