I cannot stand when they call out the fact that our HC, OC, and DC are the only team with these three positions.

We should be excited about 12 years of mediocrity? When do we actually get a change or are we playing nice and sticking with Frank until he retires? I respect the man, I was there when they hired him and saw some of the exciting things he did for our program, but we should be ready to take the next step. What are we waiting for?
Long time observes first time poster so you decide to post your first post about mediocrity post as we go to overtime

I have followed these board for a long time and I am in no way Monroe. I just don't think that is something that is worth being excited about. I am happy they pulled out the win and have followed them through the highs and lows of being a fan. Heck I am even a Cincinnati Sports fan, so I get it and will never just cheer for our team when they are winning.

So while I understand the eye roll of dealing with a negative leaning post, I am way better than Monroe and am slightly offended you went there with my first post.

Despite someone's best attempt to drag today into a referendum on "Mediocrity" today's discussion should be about the great effort of this team. The attempt to "hijack" this thread is why Posters wrere banished in the first place. It is about the team. Not a poster and his/her agenda. Well done. Bobcats. Well done. And well done admins. I appreciate it is a tough job.

Wow what a thrilling win. I'll be honest I got a little spooked when Roback hit that big TD pass on the first play of OT. Team never quit!

Definitely was a defensive battle in regulation. But when their backs were against the wall, the Cats scored their only two offensive TDs in the game when it mattered most. That last TD pass in the back of the endzone is one of those plays that I think I could watch over and over and never get sick of it.

Had mixed feelings about the decision to sit on the ball to force OT. In hindsight turned out to be a good call.

Defense I think played a strong game overall. Definitely had some struggles in the passing game but buckled down when it mattered most.

The receiving corps has definitely been gutted with injuries but it was great to see some young players step up. Odom made some huge plays.

Also, can't understate how nice it feels to win a game in the state of Michigan. Between the directionals and MAC Championship games, it seems like it was a long time ago that Cats have won a game inside the big hand.

If the EMU fans like that field good for them. I won't miss not seeing the Cats play a game there for a while. I felt like I was watching some kind of weird Photoshop job.

Exciting finish. Rourke made some big time throws on those OT drives.

Rourke is who I thought he was. He's clutch. I'm very impressed with the improvement in the defense this week. That is more what I was expecting at the beginning of the year. I was also very impressed with EMU. Their defense was all that I expected. They will win a lot of games this year, and only Toledo is probably a threat to put up big numbers on them. Outstanding win.

The gray field made it an odd game to watch. It seemed to be in black and white, but with colorized uniforms.
I thought the same thing about the color -- "It's a Wonderful Life"

Cam Odom is starting to come of age. Huge catch for the game winner. Obviously at this stage the WR injuries are an issue. Is Willie Cherry still on this roster?. I assumed his strong spring and fall camps would make him a logical depth choice to see some PT.

This was a very good win for us.
Very good coaching.
Very good QB play, he could be our next TT with 2 more years at the helm.
Let's use this victory as a real confidence builder as we head into the balance of the schedule.

My first thought was also that it was Monroe, especially given that the ID would be a fitting choice for a Monroe pseudonym (given his fixation with Ohio losing the MACC), but if you click on his ID, he is Gabe Macaluso, a real person, and an alum of Ohio University:

In case someone wondered what that strange trick play was supposed to be near the end, it was supposed to be a bummerooski:

Rourke didn't hand the ball through the legs, though, so the handoff was easier to see.

I thought the refs called it pretty loose on pass interference. There were about four plays when we were on defense and two or three with EMU on defense where I've seen it called in other games but no call was made.

Roarke did really well but he held on to the ball too long on about three of the sacks.

Ellis really saved the day. Without him, there wouldn't have been OT and we would've lost 13-6.

Crazy stat of the game: Oullette had 66% of the rushing yards for the two teams combined (145 out of 221).

He did hold the ball, but I would rather see a sack than an interception. I expect as he gains experience he will improve on throw aways.

Check out the ending to the Emporia St/Central Missouri game. I bet they wished they took a knee to end the game.

In hindsight I bet EMU wished they has just killed the clock when they got the ball left with 0:32 in the first half. I know some people always want to run the two-minute drill, but for EMU to be throwing the ball with 2d and 14 at their own 34 and something like 0:10 on the clock was stupid. I think Ohio was right to sit on the ball.

You can't play what if with turnovers. What it Ohio didn't fumble away a scoring chance? What if Zervos didn't miss the field goal? Plus, as the score changes, the play calls change, and the game track changes. Still, it was an extremely poor choice for EMU to even have been throwing on that play, but a great play by Ellis to take it to the house.

So wait, what ever did happen to Monroe? Was there a pronounced departure or did he just quietly fade away? Sorry if I missed it, I never keep up with the football board.

Ted I believe had a post about it confirming they politely asked Monroe to stay off the board due to the conflict that was occurring and the fans that were being driven away by it.

Thanks, that was the right call. I'm sure he is a decent enough guy, but it was becoming impossible to have a discussion about most anything without it going down the inevitable path. Maybe I'll actually be able to keep up with football now.

Just try and save your best complaints for a loss?
That's fair, I love this team, more than is healthy for a guy living in NC, I will try and remain positive here on out.

I do follow the boards as I watch the game, I am watching the games mostly with my 6 year old daughter. She is usually pretty agreeable, and I posted as they were talking about the facts about the coaching staff's tenure. I was caught in a week a moment and I do apologize for my negativity in a game we won. Up and to the right, here we go Ohio.
