It is pretty frustrating, we have to go from being decent to good. We all ready have a bowl eligibility countdown. We have to shoot for loftier goals.

The result of today's game is really telling and there's a huge difference in a W and a loss. Win and we would have been 5-1 undefeated in the conference with two down MAC opponents next. Possibly 7-1 territory.

The loss feels crushing and very familiar to past Bobcat seasons. Just unable to take that next step

Don't jump off the bridge. The Bobcats can still win the MAC East with two league losses. What many Bobcat and MAC fans fail to realize is that this league is really tight and there is not much difference in alot of the teams. One example is the marathon OT game with the Bulls and Western today. BG is not supposed to beat Miami and if you look at how that game ended up Miami was going in for the winning TD and a fluke fumble cost them. Ohio had just thrown a td pass with 12 seconds left before half today to go up two scores, but a penalty changed the entire game. Go Cats and bounce back next week in Bowling Green!

In previous years when Frank has lost to CMU it was because they seemingly had surprising athletes regardless of record. These last two years its more about not playing well than anything else. This weeks loss hardly has deflated the season. Ohio is 4-2 and still has the best record in the MAC East. Miami had no business losing to BG today and now are sitting at 2-4.

Ohio doesn't have 2 MAC losses. Only 1 MAC loss right now to a west opponent. As you look down the schedule Miami, Toledo, Buffalo and possibly a rematch with WMU in Detroit..none of the looked good today. Miami choked again. Toledo has a severe FG kicking issue. Buffalo picked up a deflating loss today. WMU is racking up injuries. The season isn't getting away from Ohio at this moment in time.

The truth is that it is time to win the MAC. We have had the same coaches in this league and some people are tired of being runner up. 99% of the post are not negative. There is a lot of truth to what Bshot44 is saying. This week is hard to blame on the coaches, it seems like crap happened, the block field goal, the lack of protection and the fumbles. The 3rd and 1 to Ouleete was super predictable. No response to the broken up passes and the ill-timed penalties are on the coaches. We have had a lot of injuries to our defensive backs and we will be playing teams that can pass going forward except for Kent State. We better get better quick, we better figure out how to use Odom and Cope deep and our tightends or we may be in for 6-6.

This team could lose to anybody or win any game. However if the offensive line and defensive backs don’t play better we will definitely losemore than we win. Aanybody count how many times Rourke got hit?

Ill-timed penalties? Penalties aren't on coaches? I think the illegal formation came out of a timeout. How does that happen? Coaches have to assume some responsibility for those type of infractions.

Missed tackles?

Out - coached? Yeah ... maybe an opinion, but do you think CMU didn't outcoach Ohio? 8-1 vs Frank. Continued to run same pass plays over and over on offense that worked and on defense totally took away Ohio passing game downfield. Was that just luck? What defensive or offensive in-game adjustments have you seen this coaching staff make in a game recently?

Laid egg vs far inferior opponent? Should Ohio not have beat CMU at home as 10' point favorites?

When will Ohio stop losing a game or two that they should win? I guess that might happen in a Cinderella season where everything goes right. But in general when you're favored by around ten and you don't play great in any phase, and get bad bounces, you will lose. And that's probably going to happen once or twice a year unless you have a truly exceptional team. Ohio can strive to be that exceptional, but it's not something that's easy or that most teams achieve.

I was happy that the D looked better than in previous weeks. Still needs to improve. The pressure on Rourke was a concern, that needs to be addressed. I'm still a fan of this team, and the major goal (MACC) is still achievable.

I decided to wait a day to say anything so my anger about a piss-poor performance would go away. It hasn't. Whatever the hell that was yesterday they better leave it behind or we won't make our annual trip to Wichita, Kansas for the Charmin extra soft bowl. Offensive line looked soft. Special teams was suspect. Felt bad for Rourke but 3 fumbles are 3 fumbles and 4 turnovers is simply unacceptable.

Not sure what it is about CMU but they beat Frank like a redheaded stepchild. I've read posts on other threads that blame the zebras, and that's bush league. Luckily we have two cupcakes in a row and then Halloween night against Miami starts the onslaught that determines how average this team is.

Not encouraged or content with the 7-8 wins per year. How a program stays so frustratingly stagnant is beyond me. I'm sure some of you who went through the basement years are fine with a winning record and a bowl game every year. I'm a converted Buckeye fan and I hate losing more than I like winning. I can't get used to this nonsense of being happy with a bowl bid every year that they never win. This team never wins a big game!!!

Uncle Wes- My post was intended to say, even with two league losses, the Bobcats can win the East. I realize they only have one loss as of now, but I expect all East teams to have at least two MAC losses. They need to bounce back at BG, which won't be easy. As I mentioned in my previous post, many MAC teams are very even and the difference in winning and losing is so slim. And "Converted Buckeye", this team has won a "big game" before. Maybe you forget the Pitt and Penn State wins or the the bowl win in Boise over Utah State or the win at Toledo last year or the win at Northern Illinois in Frank's second season with Kalvin at RB. Sure there are some losses that are difficult to forget, but this program has won big games before.

Overall record I was talking about. I'm failing to see how the season is finished when Ohio is the only team above .500 through 6 games. Its Miami that has to be more concerned about racking up too many losses.

Miami was on their way to winning against BG then rain and wind hit which threw off the timing of their receivers. BG's offensive coordinator exploited Miami's run defense. I don't think BG is going to be able to run like that next week against Ohio. Then next week its Kent at home the weakest team in the MAC this season. I said this team is capable of winning 9, 10, 11 games this year and not the usual 7 or 8 and at the moment is still possible. 11-3 win the MACC and a bowl is not unrealistic.
