The Miami game weather, according to WeatherBug, will be the coldest day of the season so far. Temps at game time will be around 36F and by the end of the game it is predicted that temps will be below freezing. This will further erode the already low turnout prediction. The lunacy of these late season weekday games is further illuminated by this cold front that will be passing through the area. Interestingly, the low on Thursday will be much warmer -- a predicted 53. Sorry if I sound a bit like Weatherman Jeff, but them's the facts ma'am.

Of course, if they had played last Saturday it would've been rainy and in the 40s. Last Halloween it was in the 50s in the evening. Ohio weather this time of year is a crap shoot.

These games are not scheduled for you and me. The living rooms and sports bars that are the reason the game is on a blustery Tuesday will all be around 68 degrees with no wind.

Agree ... it could be 55 and dry on Tuesday night and I would still say they'd struggle to have 10,000 people in the stands for an 8pm kickoff.

These weeknight kickoffs totally take a piss on the in-the-stands fans that support the MAC teams ... it's 10000% about adding some coin to their pocket via the TV contract.

Look at the crowd for Akron/Buffalo on Saturday .... albeit it was rainy in Akron that day, but for a national TV game that place as damn near empty. They claimed 17k+ ... but that is a joke.

Why was Akron/Buffalo okay to play on Saturday on national TV ... but not Miami/Ohio?

Oh ... that's right. Because, almighty ESPN gets first dibs on their choice of games ... so of course they want Ohio because they can go on and on and on about Frank Solich and his long-tenured coaching staff and his days at Nebraska.

Money talks .... and MAC fans in November can suck it. That's #MACtion

Agree 100 percent with that statement. Though last Saturday would not have been a good date for a game, next Saturday looks to be high near 60, with only a chance of rain. And, 60 is a heck of a lot warmer than temps in the low 30s!

I predict a massive and loud student presence to start, and a nearly equally massive exodus after the half regardless of the score.

I predict a very poor student turnout for this game, such a small number that any massive exodus would be impossible. Overall, I predict the lowest attendance of any game in recent OHIO history. Two reasons: The very cold weather, and the fact that weather this cold seems even colder at the beginning of the winter season. Once you get used to really cold weather, you start to adjust. Temps were much warmer less than a week ago, so folks have not yet adjusted to the fact that it's winter (not calendar winter, but in terms of weather). Hope I'm wrong about this, but that's my best guess.

Agree 1000%

I think they'll claim 15k+ .... but I will guess-timate there will be roughly 7-9k there.

It will look TERRIBLE on TV.

Athletic dept has been really pushing the Haunt Miami theme/shirts ... but I just don't think this game resonates, even if it is Miami.

Fiami stinks ... it's not for the title (directly) and it's going to be awful weather.

So yes ... bad crowd on deck for Tuesday for sure is my guess.

OH ....

And I can't wait for three hours of dissection of CFP rankings while some attention on the actual Ohio/Miami game gets sprinkled in.

I. HATE. ESPN.

Are you sure the weather forecast is that dire? WSAZ says high 53, low 33. Scalia says high 50, low 32. No chance of precipitation and low winds. I don't think it will be as bad as youre saying.

I am going to miss this due to trick or treating, which my son is admitting he's too old for buy my youngest really wants me to go. I'd like my father of the year award now, please.

So, four tickets and a parking pass, free to anyone who asks and can come get them in Columbus.

Anyone going out to watch in Columbus? There is a game watch at millers ale house. Not sure I want to go that far, but I am considering just to be among the Green Peeps.

It could be worse. I wanted to watch some of the Marshall game on Saturday. It was broadcast on Facebook. I wish I was kidding. The love for CUSA is at an all-time low with my friends that are Herd grads.

The weeknight games (along with the length of said games) are the biggest reason I didn't renew my season tickets.

I personally believe the MAC should go to a flexible schedule, one where we could base games on the 10 day weather forecast and adjust times accordingly. That way we would always have a great Saturday crowd. Time to think outside the box.

Yes, BTC, but wouldn't that require Peden being expanded to 40,000 seats?

Not sure if we can give you that award so soon.....we have a pending challenge from the family with a baby due the week of the MAC Championship. If they show up in Detroit before she has a kid, they win. That said, if the kid is born in Michigan......

Being challenged by Jeff as one who puts out a more dire forecast than necessary is a real rare treat. Can't believe I've progressed to that level. ;-)

This is actually a brilliant idea. Just a few years ago no one would have believed that game times could be changed just days before a kickoff to satisfy an ESPN last second change of mind. So, flexible dates seems the next logical step. Not many have the ability to think in such a futuristic fashion. My hat's off to BTC!

Our first mid week game goes head-to-head against the World Series...it will be relegated to the 12" TV in the kitchen mop closet.
