If last week's win was Ohio's most complete game under Solich, as many here suggested, tonight's game at Akron has to be one of this team's most incomplete games. An all-around dud, making last week's win vs. Toledo a lot less meaningful.

Akron literally had 2 defensive starters ejected for targeting

175 yards in penalties

Freshman QB starting his 2nd game ever

Terry Bowden as a HC

...if Ohio goes for a TD on the 1 right before half they win the game. Just sayin’

One of the worst losses in program history.
I completely agree. To go from MAC title hopes to most likely not even going to Detroit is sad. This is so disgusting.

I like Frank a lot, but I’m not being an apologist when I say you can’t spot any opponent three short fields that translate to -21 points and have a fighting chance with your normal game plan. It’s really the same story with all three losses this season. I don’t want to pin it entirely on the players, but it is what it is.

Second String QB catches us resting on our laurels. The coaches are way to conservative. Season is basically over. Sick to my stomach. This will not cut it.

A 5 loss Akron team going to the MAC Championship to represent the East is laughable. Maybe Monroe had a point????

Idk what you watched, but I watched poor play-calling, in game management, and COMPLETE LACK of defensive game plan.

So many problems to dissect, where does one begin, players, coaches? This coupled with the fact that all of your hard work and the goals you set during the summer was right in your grasp and you played and coached as if you hadn't won a game and had nothing to gain.

Is it weird that Ohio rushed for 250 yards and yet it felt like Akron controlled the LOS? It was way too tough sledding inside the tackles. Big plays paper over that in the stats.

Rourke's been lucky all year to not throw more interceptions. It caught up to him.

The game still felt in control up to the fumbled kickoff. That was a kick in the gut.

First of all, I don't give any credence to a person who doesn't know the difference between "loose" and "lose." Second, this is absolutely on the coaches. Motivation, preparation, play-calling -- it's on the coaches. Rourke, for the first time this year, looked frustrated by some of the play-calling. We don't go for it on 4th and goal from the 1 but throw a fade to a 5-foot-7 receiver on 4th and 6? Go "loose" yourself somewhere else.

Well we did what we do best.....we gift wrap titles for other folks.

Congrats Toledo on your MACC, beating Akron won't be hard for you since you already did by 30 points.....

+1. This all goes down to the guys getting paid $$$ to lead this team. They always fold on the big stage. Not sure how much longer you can ride the “continuity train” until it runs out of steam. At some point the program needs to win in Detroit. Losing embarrassingly twice as double digit favorites wouldn’t get it done anywhere else in the country, why is it acceptable in Athens?

Kent has upset them more than once, and their QB was hurt on the last play.

The problem is that we have to beat Buffalo on the road, which team is going to show up?
