Holding in the MAC is different from Power 5 in my experience. Holding in the MAC is shoulder pads or anywhere outside framework. You have to be locked on the armpits and if the player tries to disengage you HAVE TO LET GO. In POWER 5 you can get away with holding the shoulder pads as long as youre not twisting and turning the player. I really dont see Akron holding. Akron is causing themselves stupid penalties

Offense has played well aside from the pick. I don’t see us scoring less than 40 points. I’ll also add, these refs are horrible. We’ve gotten some lucky calls. I have no idea how they missed that offsides.

Yes. The Akron announcer does Akron football, Akron men's basketball, MAC men's and women's basketball tournament and Cleveland Browns football.

That’s likely another bad call, this time against us, unfortunately with no good camera angle, we can’t tell. Our D can give up points at times. We’ll be fine.Without the countiuation of these costly turnovers I’m pretty confident we will keep scoring.

Brown looked pretty shook up after his TD when the first targeting call happened. Doubt he'll be back.

Hate the call of kicking a FG on the one yard line, regardless of how hot their offense is. Mac East on the line, go big.

Where the hell is the defense? Must have left the starters in Athens because this isn’t the same team that played a week ago.

If Akron is smart they keep 7-8 guys in the box and make Rourke beat them with his arm. Ohio can play catch up, but I prefer they get their heads back into this game and keep AKRON from scoring 50.

Unbelievable game, really. If they roll over and lose this game it’ll be hard for me to seriously support this team. The inability to win the games you’re supposed to win really shows a lack of concentration and will. Not sure what Jim has been doing with the DB’s but they look embarrassing getting torched by a Frosh

Dorian out the game means more wear and tear on Ouellette. We need a change of speed back to keep Akrons blitzing LBs honest. We need to get out of the 4-3 and go 4-2-5 and confuse Cato. Im not too worried being down by 6 on the road. But we need to control the clock and help our defense out more. I believe we will do that in the 2nd half.

Things like this happen in college football where a new QB throws you off. He is a better QB than Woodson in my opinion. The games I watched Woodson....he holds on to the ball too long and this Cato kid doesnt. This MAC East will be exciting over the next several years. We need to stay out of 1 safety high because when he sees that he is going deep. He doesnt throw it deep with 2 safeties. A 4-2-5 adjustment should halt his momentum in the second half. Another thing is getting them to 2nd and long. They have been in short yardage all night.

I’ve noticed a switch over to a 33 stack look on defense. Looks like they’re starting to run inside zone off of that and taking whatever Ohio gives them. Eventually this young QB has to make a mistake, right?

You gotta love the story about 45 and the intensity he brings, but losing Brown could be pretty detrimental to the run game. Maybe get the freshman kid some looks, and see if he can be the change of pace you mentioned. You’d think with Akron losing a DT it’d open up the middle for the run game, but that hasn’t been the case so far
