We need to have a brand on defense, like the attack cats. We need to establish our selves on defense now that we have good QB’s, RB’s and OL’s. Once we start winning the money flow into the program. The time is now and the excuses are no longer valid. We could have run the table if our defense did not give up so many points. We have had solid defenses under Solich, we just have to believe and be relentless in recruiting, coaching and accountability.

I continue to believe that with spiraling sports costs the solution is to create an Ohio Conference of larger schools and play club competition in all but the bigger spectator sports. Single day travel, no overnights, carry your lunches type of thing. You can even add track, tennis and other sports schools have dropped in recent years, Drop the MAC, play five or so Ohio teams in D-1 competition and the rest of the games with outside the state competition. Only Ohio, California and Texas are in the position now to make such a move. You free up more money for football, basketball and volleyball and add more sports at the same time.
In a way its a wal-mart or amazon prime way of looking at college sports where new distibution of the product to lower costs. If D1 was organized that way it would be to our benefit in recruiting for the olympic sports.

I was at O.U. when the Fall Quarter started at the end of September, ended around Christmas and you got out for the Summer in June.
That schedule didn't work well for anyone.

Getting out in June-and the problem would be??? Athens in May-June, does it get better that that?? ;)

Said tongue-in-cheek. I know that getting out in June didn't help as far as jobs were concerned. [/QUOTE]Or getting any type of job over Christmas break. My last exam was usually Dec 19 or 20.

Ah,yes,Athens in late May/early June.

I still remember "girls in their summer clothes" (apologies to Bruce),playing volleyball in the street in front of GAM.

That and going to Strouds Run for a swim.
