A team that didn't exist last year in a location that no one will get to for a game that few care about. Seems to be just what this team deserves after the last two games.

Plus the fact this is UAB's chance to win their first ever bowl game, throw in the fact that a bowl victory would basically make the UAB story a made for tv movie, and taking into account Ohio's history, I think we can all guess how this game is gonna end up...

Same thought I had! This is the 2015 Camellia Bowl all over again, with Appalachian State getting their 1st ever bowl victory . Deja vu.

This should be a pretty decent matchup for us, assuming Dorian Brown is healthy and our our heads are on straight. UAB has a pretty good dual threat QB and a stud freshman RB.

We don't exactly deserve it after the last couple of games, but sometimes you need a little luck. Sure beats the other bowls we end up playing. Long range computer guidance shows a shift in the weather patterns coming around December 10th with some polar air locking in across much of the northern US (almost down to the Gulf Coast) and Europe. Something tells me there might be some last minute ticket sales if that should occur.

Also, I like the timing of the bowl (December 22) you can go and get back for Christmas. Not sure I can convince the better half about this trip, but who knows if Atlantis is having a special kids package (which I highly doubt) who knows?

Yes, please judge our team by the performance of a team playing their second game ever together. The first game was a blowout of a SWAC team, so Ball St. was functionally their first game against real competition. We ran for 336 and 4 TD agains them and threw for another 168. They made better halftime adjustments, and we got beat. Happens.

True freshman Spencer Brown has 1300 rushing yards and ten TD's.

QB A.J. Erdeley has thrown for over 2,000 yards, 16 TD, 4 int, and run for 13 more touchdowns. The OL is 300 lbs all the way across. Receivers are decent to pretty good. TE is a bit weak as our best two took season ending injuries early in the season.

Defense is pretty good across the board. Big nasty DL, solid LB leadership, and a good secondary.

As damn near any fan always says, if we can avoid turnovers I feel like we have a good chance to take y'all down.

And like you, we'll probably have as many as fifty fans there. An unexpected trip to the Bahamas three days before Christmas is not doable for the average Joe Fan.

Hoping for a good game. I don't know squat about the MAC, so you guys are pretty much an unknown to me.

It's a Cinderella year for us, eight wins in our first season back from having our football team stolen from us. Our guys will want this game very badly indeed. Of course, that and a buck will get you a cup of coffee...

Hello UAB Band Dad and congratulations on your team’s success this year! Major kudos to all involved.

Actually, if you read through most of the posts on this website and given OUr recent luck in the postseason, I think you’ll find a lot of Bobcatttack posters feel UAB winning this game is a slam dunk.

Me, I’m a Cleveland Browns fan, so you know how I feel at this point. Why I even bother to follow football is a mystery to me.

Nice destination, terrible bowl, but Ohio will easily win. The actual “crowd” at this bowl game makes EMU games look like sellouts. No one goes, it’s a horrible atmosphere. But you can’t beat the weather.

Actually, it was really strange at the tailgate yesterday. We got win #8, remained undefeated at home, and were standing there speculating about which bowl we'd go to.

We were all looking around trying to figure out where the music from the Twilight Zone was coming from. This is the second bowl in team history, and the other one was the Hawaii Bowl in 2005, Roddy White's senior year.

It would really be nice to go to a bowl somewhere in the continental United States sometime...

Yeah, I read your board and saw some of the venting. I think we have a pretty good chance, actually, but I don't want to swagger in here all cocky and be "that guy".

Bill Clark should be National Coach of the Year, hands down. Most of the preseason publications picked us as #130 of 130, mostly because they had no idea what was going on. Las Vegas put the over/under on our wins at 2.5. CBS had us at #51 last time I looked. Do you know another coach who raised his team's position in the polls by 80 positions?

He looked at SMU coming back from the Death Penalty for what not to do. UAB got two years to hit reset and field a team, and the recruits were time stopped re eligibility without using a redshirt. Clark recruited good players who were quality people, whether they were Jucos, transfer players, players rehabbing injury, or players needing time to get their academics in order. He built a team that was heavy to older guys by the time they got back on the field. There are a couple of recruiting classes of true freshmen, but this first team is not full of 18 and 19 year olds. His plan worked perfectly.

It has really been a special year for us. There are not many fanbases who have had to endure the crap that the UAB fans have. Long history there, I won't bore you with the politics.
