Anyone know whether we have a home football game on October 20, 2018. Just got invited to a wedding that I hope doesn't interfere with a home game!

A tweet from @MACSports yesterday stated "be on the lookout this week" regarding the football schedule release.

No. Just one. 9/1 is Howard. 9/29 is UMass. 10/25, 11/14, and 11/23 are not Saturdays. It's also looking like we have an open date in Week 2 since I believe every MAC team except for Aktron will be playing OOC games and we're owed a home game against the Zips. This is shaping up to be the worst home schedule since 2008.

Uh, that would be one home Saturday MAC game, Homecoming on the 20th. Oct. 25 is a Thursday, November 14 is a Wednesday and November 23 is the day after Thanksgiving when the students are gone and a Friday. This schedule sucks.

I'm strongly considering telling them they can have my football tickets this year.

The ongoing debate on TV ,versus getting our fans into the stands for Saturday games. I worry that our students get out of the habit of enjoying a glorious fall day at Peden.
It makes it difficult too for alums living a few hours from Athens to attend mid week games.
We need a schedule that includes only 1 or 2 midweek games.

Unless we play Toledo for the third year in a row, we will have an open date on 9/8. Everyone else in the league is playing an OOC game.

These dates are horrendous. I assumed the week two game was going to be a home game against Akron. Students don't even have a football team to support and have a good time on a Saturday. We don't play on Saturdays.

I'm just curious - does anyone remember what the per ticket cost for a single game ticket for homecoming was?

Are you f'n kidding me?!?!?

I HATE this goddamn league so much when it comes to these decisions.

There’s so much wrong with this schedule. I don’t know how it could be worse. The thing I hate the worse is the small period between the oct 20 and 25 games. At least they’re both home games, but that’s bad on so many levels.

And my guess is that Dads Weekend will be very shortly after that. Where can I find how much the family pack costs this coming year?

FYI to fellow out-of-towners: The Baymont Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Knights Inn are all available to book on Expedia for Homecoming weekend (Oct. 19-21). Book now before the official schedule announcement and everything gets snatched up.

Last year I saw more road games than home games because of my person availability. Purdue, UMASS and Buffalo on the road. Then Bahamas Bowl too.
Kansas, Toledo at home.

For me, this is much worse than any basketball schedules in recent years. I hope Jim Schaus has prepared his team on how to answer why this schedule is happening in this way, because they're gonna get asked a lot. I might go to Bobcat Caravan just to ask that question.

He'll have a lame ass answer so unless the free food and beverage is a draw, might as well stay home.

This is not good. I understand the November mid-week games because MAC fans check out by then plus Thanksgiving breaks that adversely affects small MAC towns (and the TV cash). But Saturdays in September and October need to be football days.

Akron only has two non-Saturday games:

Sat., April 21  SPRING GAME Noon
Sat., Sept. 1 at Nebraska
Sat., Sept. 8 MORGAN STATE
Sat. Sept. 15 at Northwestern
Sat., Sept. 22 at Iowa State
Sat., Sept. 29 BYE
Sat., Oct. 6 *MIAMI (Ohio)
Sat., Oct. 13 *at Buffalo
Sat., Oct. 20 *at Kent State
Sat., Oct. 27 *CENTRAL MICHIGAN #
Thurs., Nov. 1 *NORTHERN ILLINOIS # [ESPNU | CBS-SN]
Sat., Nov. 10 *at Eastern Michigan #
Sat., Nov. 17 *BOWLING GREEN
Fri., Nov. 23 *at Ohio
