All in jest as the drama unfolds in Columbus. If anyone has a better name for what's going on in Columbus than what I have developed, I will gladly offer a beer from Jackie O's or a drink from West End Cider House.....

I was just getting ready to post something along those lines.

Dang, there goes the free beer. :-(

Now I'll just have to cry in my Dortmunder out here in NJ.

I suggest that you delete this thread and then post another one with a fuller range of options, including The Monroe Saga, Kneeling in Siberia, and Social Justice Warrior Thread Jacking, Perhaps, others can suggest further options before a new poll is posted. Just a thought.

If Ted wants to delete and reform as a thread, I would be delighted.

Otherwise, I am curious as to what other Soap Operas our viewers of BobcatAttack partake in that we can include in the 2019 survey among the base.....

You can't change the options after you submit a poll, though you can edit the title, and the contents of the actual first post. If you want to re-submit the poll, edit this thread title to "Moderators please delete", and change the contents of the first post to "This poll has been replaced by one with more options", then just submit a replacement. Normally the moderators will delete the obsolete one fairly quickly. A couple times I put polls in the recruiting forum by mistake, instead of here, and they went away quickly.

For ideas on additional "Bobcat Soap operas", simply page back though the annals of BA, and look for threads that run 4 pages or more.

I think I'm going to let this thread run for a bit to see what we get for options. I am intrigued by what is in everyone's mind.

Please give it a Soap Opera Name. Fire Solich would not look good to our sponsors looking to buy these shows.

"His wife doesn't like Athens" is one of my favorite series. What's really impressive is that despite constant turnover in the cast, it's remained a classic through the years.

I think it's hilarious that the Burrow thread was getting the "he isn't an Ohio University player so why are we talking about him" treatment but the second there's a problem in Cow Town the Urban Meyer thread is 7+ pages strong.

Yes, there is certainly a difference between Ohio fans praising and following an Ohio State player and Ohio fans relishing in another Ohio State scandal. They are kinda different.

Semantics. It's still talk about non-Bobcat football any way you spin it.

Ah Yes, an Oldie but a goodie. Sponsors have paid a premium for that one, especially during the TOS years.....

Maybe "the wife isn't happy routine" is started by someone close to the coach so he can have cover to leave. I am sure everyone is happy at the O'Shea house now that they are retired and living on the East Coast. Former Notre Dame and Washington Huskie Coach Tyronne Willingham's wife was supposedly unhappy at both locations. Some sites have him the most overrated coach in college football history. However, he might be one of the smartest coaches in college football history, because he retired in his mid 50s after making boat loads of money in South Bend and Seattle. He and his wife are reportedly very happy back in Palo Alto.

Okay. I spin it as there’s a difference between cheering for your nemesis and enjoying their embarrassment. That isn’t semantics. It’s two entirely different agendas. I don’t have any sympathy for you because you like the buckeyes. I’m a Bobcat fan. Only.

Thanks for the thought provoking, rambling gibberish. I’m sure everyone is following you on this one.
I do agree Ty was underrated. (See Charlie Weiss) not sure what else could be gleaned from that.

If we’re going to include all sports, how can we forget basketball’s “Jaaron Simmons: To Follow or Not Follow” saga?

Oh man, I forgot about "Groce Watch" and tracking a Russian Mig on FlightAware thinking it was the plane bringing him back from Illinois. Good times. Still the longest thread on BA, I think.

I also somehow forgot about "Malik Zaire is DEFINITELY coming!" and the (can't remember whose) secret ingredient in a mashed potato recipe.

Medina Cat & Sam Bobcat not sure what you don't get. Coach O'Shea and his wife are back where they want to be--retired in their 50s, not a bad gig if you can get it. The same goes for Coach Willingham and his wife. However, they are really sitting pretty because they made lots more money and they too are retired in their 50s, which is why I said Coach Willingham might be the smartest of the lot (even if his record left a lot to be desired). They are away from the stress of coaching, they probably have fond memories of what they have accomplished, or at least tried to accomplish, and it appears they are happy in their retirement.

Some people never know when to quit, no matter how much money they have. Watching the Roll Tide (fall camp) show on ESPN, it seems Coach Saban (who is about 10 years older) looks like he could use some time to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Maybe he still loves doing what he is doing and all of the limelight make it hard for him to show it. He just looks a little stressed out. All I am trying to say is too many people die or get serious illnesses before they have time to enjoy the big nest egg they have built up. Coach O'Shea and Coach Willingham seem to be pretty happy right now.
