Sam Bobcat's post reminds me of a segment I saw a few years ago on 60 Minutes or one of those news program shows. The segment featured sports shock jocks who got on the air and the minute someone didn't like their views that someone was really a secret fan of the other team or rival. The segment was devastating in that when pressed these shock jocks knew nothing of the history of the various teams they liked and couldn't care less to delve into the nuances of the major stories of the day. My guess is that when I mentioned the legendary Bobcat Coach Bill Hess, Sam had to go to Wikipedia to find out who he was.

Jim Rome was like those shock jocks in his early days, making fun of sports fans who called in giving analogies about something that was five years or more back in time. This sort of behavior was parodied in the TV show Frasier, where the fictional sports anchor at the radio station where Frasier worked, Bulldog Briscoe was always getting himself into some sort of trouble. He always tried to get out of a situation he didn't understand by name calling because he certainly couldn't think or physically fight his way out of any problem.

The thing I have always liked about this message board is the interesting analysis, debate, historical references and give and take that has been the hallmark of this site. Some of the boards for the major conferences have degenerated into a bad Bulldog Briscoe segment which is why they have certain other message boards for serious fans who do what we do, at least most of the time.
That’s funny! Your posts remind me of a 60 minutes segment about women pretending to be men. But I did enjoy all your Bulldog Briscoe references. I don’t have anything against Ohio history. Just the buckeyes. Keep that crap where it belongs.

Sam Bobcat, I am somewhat of a sentimentalist for fellow Bobcat grads (assuming you did graduate.) Perhaps you can name call people your age and maybe you can get away it. Perhaps they let you throw snarky comments about shows where women were pretending to be men and you and they think that is really being funny.

I am assuming you are a man and that you never played sports past the fourth grade level, if I am incorrect please accept my apologies. However, if you happen to be at a Bobcat event with people my age who actually played and coached sports past the fourth grade and you engage in name calling because you can't keep up with the conversation, it won't end up well. You see we aren't very politically correct, we really aren't interested in your feelings, and many of us grew up in tough environments. Just a little word to the wise.

Oh you’re a sensitive one. If shmuck was that damaging to you then I apologize. I find it funny that you consider yourself a tuff guy. I’ve yet to back down from a challenge though. You aren’t the only one raised in a “tough environment.” I look forward to meeting you and “people your age” to be taught a lesson. Bring your Ben-gay!

This has actually been quite illuminating and helped me to understand the Russian Collusion Case. You can't hang with someone on this board so they are a secret Buckeye or Miami Redskin fan (Sam that's what they use to call the Redhawks.) Just like you can't win an election, so the Russians physically rigged the election. BTW, the Russians have been trying to undermine our elections, since Lenin ruled, but they haven't been very successful. Yet, we were told in 2012, by the same people saying the Russians stole the election that bringing up Russia was so 1980s.

Meanwhile I am sure Sam is asking how many teams are in the MAC again? Now was Marshall ever in the MAC and did Northern Illinois leave and come back and who is this Hess and Grobe that he keeps bringing up? I am sure his tutors will tell him to stick to the script, just call him a Buckeye fan. Follow the old Jim Rome and Bulldog Briscoe name calling script when the arguments are over your head. It is kinda of like mental Rope a Dope (this is a Muhammad Ali reference--he was a boxer in the 1960s and 70--just trying to help you out.) Oh by the way, I don't need Ben-Gay, I am in great shape. Please introduce yourself at the next Bobcat football or basketball game or tailgate, my friends and I would love to hear you and your wise cracking friends insult us. That I would like to see!!!

I think I'm gonna have a couple more beers and see if that stays true.

You lost me in your ramblings. I’m not sure why you keep giving Bobcat history trivia answers. What does that have to do with my aversion to buckeye discussions on this site? How does me not wanting to hear about the buckeyes equal in your estimation, an ignorance of bobcat football history? Or for that matter what does my age (which you seem to angrily assume is young) have to do with not liking buckeye discussions here? You seem unstable and maybe slightly drunk. Fly a rainbow flag so I know who you are this season. I would look for Ohio State gear but I’m sure a Columbus cat fan like yourself doesn’t have any of that.

Sam it is this simple, you think you are a Bobcat fan but you know nothing about Bobcat history, so you come after me and call me a Buckeye fan and now I am apparently drunk and unstable (haven't had a beer in days!) Then you throw in these weird comments about 60 Minute segments concerning men who are really women and now some weird rainbow flag reference. You make fun of my Bobcat alum friends and tell us to bring our Ben-Gay after I told you we weren't originally from a nice suburban background (though most of us do pretty well now) and we certainly aren't politically correct. By the way we actually played and coached sports well past 4th grade and none of us are really out of shape, many including myself work out regularly.

As I told you please introduce yourself at any Bobcat football game and tailgate. Bring your friends and tell my friends about your snarky comments concerning women pretending to be men, rainbow flags and Ben Gay. It doesn't take much courage to say these things now, please say these things to our face and see how many people laugh then. Please do that because it will be something. I don't have anything further to say to you because I await your snarky comments at the first tailgate.

I posted this earlier, but this as billed as "undercover video" -- however, it is interviews with former athletes with what looks like a cell phone sitting on the table during the interview. So did Project Veritas not tell the interviewees they were being recorded? Or did they get permission to record and still call it an "undercover video"?

Lol okay. Anyone who has to continue to bring up his friends is not a tuff guy. That’s a guy who really really wants to be tuff though. Sorry but I’ve only poked fun at you. Not your friends. Whomever they may be. Have you asked your “friends” if they think you’re tuff? You work out with your friends? Or just hang out by their tailgates? Are you in a tailgate gang? Jeez...maybe I called the wrong person a shmuck.

between stints with foxnews you may want to inhale news from another source. yes the russians have been trying to influence our elections. but until a candidate named trump came along a campaign did not anxiously meet with russians because of a promise for information that would help their candidate (as admitted by the candidate - his son, and others). of course said candidate has just completed the “apology summit” though the american people (let alone congress) still have not been told what was discussed. So i guess we will have to trust put in as much as our potus does.

Doc. thought i would contribute to its move to Siberia....since russia is involved...and a bucknut thread should not reside at the top of a bobcat site.

in conclusion. i hope they fire meyer. love to see another disgrace blanket OSU.

To return this thread to its original purpose, and perhaps save it from Siberia and Russian collusion,
here's a story that has been circulating among Ohio State partisans for the last several days. It is being
sent around via an email. I received this from a forward from Steve Hayes, Woody's son. If this is true, it
puts an entirely different light on the Urban Meyer scandal.

Bobcat Love's Sense of Shame
8/13/2018 9:04 AM
In the same thread where people are lamenting that society has reached a point where lives can be ruined based on accusations alone, people are going to cite a Facebook post by a guy cited as an "Ohio State insider" where he quotes the Mother of the accused as his source?

I assume the same people who were bemoaning the fact that a single social media past can ruin innocent lives are going to hop in to defend Smith's wife here, right? And that they won't forget to cite this as yet another example of how an accusation, without any backing, can ruin an innocent person's life?

Because we don't know what happened here. And yet people seem more than willing to spread lightly sourced theories about how this is all just a jolted lover making up stories of abuse to "bring down Urban Meyer."

As everyone on here knows, or st least all the regulars, I’m no A&M apologist. When I read this story I thought it should be posted here to give the other side of the story. I clearly said IF this is true, it changes the whole perspective of the story. I did not say that I believe it to be true, or that it had great credibility. But, it appears to be the best argument of the Uber Urbanites so I thought others here should be exposed to it. I have no problem with BLSS. or anyone else tearing it apart. I talked to a good friend in Columbus yesterday evening and apparently neither he nor Steve Hayes is putting a whole lot of stock in this story.
