Excuse my ignorance...but will ESPN+ games be streamable on ESPN3?

Pretty much the sole reason I keep my cable package is for my ESPN3 login. So if I'm all the sudden unable to watch half the Ohio football and basketball games on ESPN3 anymore, I see no reason to continue paying $45 a month for my TV subscription.
No. ESPN+ is $4.99/month. ESPN3 is free but my guess is they'll be moving most content over to ESPN+.

And ESPN+ is subject to blackout, which means you get to pay to maybe not watch what you want (a real minus):

Blackouts. Certain live sporting events and other content available through the ESPN+ service subscription may be subject to blackouts. For example, if you are in the home television territory of a team participating in a game, then the game may be blacked-out for viewing or live viewing as part of your ESPN+ service subscription (or other applicable third-party service). Blackouts will be enforced according to the location from which you are accessing the ESPN+ service or the applicable third-party services, and we may use different technologies and methods to verify your geographic location. If you do not enable location access on your device, you will not be able to access the ESPN+ service.

Subscriptions to third-party products and services that you purchase or access through your ESPN+ service subscription will also be subject to specific blackout policies of the applicable sports leagues (e.g., Major League Baseball or the National Hockey League). Such policies may be made available or communicated to you in connection with your purchases of league-specific content. The blackout policies for services available via ESPN+ are available in the FAQs.
Okay I wasn't even aware of that. That's bullshit.

have not seen anything in Cleveland, nor would I expect a watch party for a game against Howard. Here's my go to link for these types of events: www.clevelandbobcats.com

I'm not certain but I'm guessing the blackout restrictions mostly will apply to professional sports. For example, if an Indians game is shown on ESPN+, it likely would be blacked out in the Indians' market set by MLB. Those people only can watch via the team's official network, STO. It's MLB that sets those blackout restrictions.

Since this is the first game ever between Ohio and Howard, the game is interesting for another reason, that no one has mentioned. OCF has done a great deal of research on the subject however, and has been trying with very limited success to bring it to peoples' attention. Ask the question, "Who was the first black qb to play for a major college team?", and no one knows the answer. One suggestion is that perhaps the answer is Robert Robertson, who played for the University of Oregon in 1927.
https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200811091531...
Another possible answer is Charles West, who played for Washington & Lee in the 1922 Rose Bowl:
http://thecomeback.com/ncaa/dr-charles-west-first-african...

In fact, much earlier, in 1903, Arthur Carr was the QB for Ohio. After Ohio, he went on to Howard Medical School, and later taught at Howard. Even there, the ties between Carr and Ohio Football don't end. Carr's family donated to the University the land on which Peden was built. I wish OCF would post some of his research here. I do have a photo of the 1903 team that OCF sent me, but I have to figure out how to post it. Perhaps one of the admins can PM me, and I can send it to them for them to post.

Edit - OCF just let me know that he has at long last had some success (he has been working on this for over a year), and this story will be covered by the Athens News, and perhaps by the Southeast Ohio History Center.

Here's the Athens News article: The Ohio-Howard connection

Did I see the point spread correctly? We are 43 point favorites?

I haven't been able to find a spread. In an FBS/FCS matchup, 43 points wouldn't shock me. (I'd probably still take the points, though.)

I did see that Marshall is a 2.5 point favorite at Fiami. Even if you consider that the home team gets 3 points, I would still think Marshall is more than a touchdown better than Red Chicken. It's definitely one to watch for our conference prospects.

That seems to be more of a computer-based prediction site ant not an actual betting line. It can be hard to find spreads for games involving non-FBS teams. I did find one here showing Ohio as an 18-point favorite: https://www.sportsbettingstats.com/ncaaf/odds

Do my eyes deceive me or do they have Buffalo as 10 point dogs against Delaware State?

They also have Eastern Michigan 6 point dogs against Monmouth...

And Toledo as 10 point dogs against VMI.

It appears to me that those games really have no line but that they copied and pasted from games listed before them.

Thanks for sharing the article and research on Dr. Carr. What a great find. Would be great if both schools recognized him as a prominent alumn from both universities during the contest. Perhaps halftime?

did Frank call this a tune-up game? I don't remember hearing that at the press conf or coaches show. Maybe howard is trying to invent bulletin board material?

Frank never called this a tune up game. Frank never under estimates any opponent.
Frank is always positive about our opponents.
This is someone making up stuff. Not to bring the fake news into this but it's someone making stuff up that is just not correct. PERIOD.

Tune-up game? PC BS. Who should care if a coach uses that term?

The origin of tune-up comes from adjusting the internal combustion engine and a term used by motorheads world wide attempting to get maximum efficiency/output from an engine and in racing beat the crap out of your opponent.

Every game except the last game of the year is a tune-up game for all teams trying to get better. Tweaking here, tweaking there. For Howard this game is a tune-up game so that they attempt to perform better in the next game.

If OHIO was playing Alabama today it would have been okay for Frank to say, "This is a tune-up game." "We wanted our players to experience maximum speed and a physically superior opponent to see what it takes to be the best in the MAC"

It’s very troubling to see Howard be able to move the ball so easily on the Bobcats’ defense.
