Bobcat Love's Sense of Shame

I think the truth is probably way sadder than that.

My guess is Bobcat1996 is just some dude. Maybe he has some vague connection to Ohio Athletics and Tim Albin. He probably donated a little money, met him a handful of times. Maybe they were neighbors or something.

And 1996 tries really hard to convince himself that means he matters. That he's influential and isn't just a regular old fan.

But deep down, he knows the truth. And that's why he carries such weird, creepy animosity towards Cromer. Because she's actually in charge and she actually matters, and he's just some dude on the sideline watching and gossiping about the people actually doing shit.

"What you did FORGET to post is that Tim Albin, our former football coach, CHOSE to leave his job with Ohio prior to the end of last season. He consciously made a decision to become the head football coach at UNCC. Why blame that on our AD? Had he CHOSEN to complete the year and be the first coach since 1968 to win the MAC at Ohio, I'm sure his compensation package would have reflected that success. But leaving before the end of the season was idiotic on his part."

Mid70s and others you are dead wrong. Albin gave 20 years to the Bobcat community and the current AD didn't appreciate that. Name another Ohio coach who was photographed in The Post for assisting the Bobcat swim team as a timer for the MAC swim meets along with his DFO? How many other Bobcat coaches regularly attended Ohio soccer, volleyball, baseball and volleyball games? The man was an ambassador for Ohio University. This AD didn't appreciate a coach who won 10 games year after year after year and won a league title for the first time in school history since 1968. This AD didn't support a coach who was hand picked by Coach Solich. The football field is named after Solich, but this AD doesn't care. This AD refused to appreciate a coach who had the best win percentage in the MAC the last four years. This AD knew Albin was offered a huge salary by Rice and turned it down a week before the Ball St game. This AD was well aware of other offers Albin had before the Ball St game, but she refused to reward the two time MAC coach of the year. After the Ball St win, this AD had several days to get the deal done, but she refused to do so. If this AD was in the SEC or Big Ten and made this blunder, she would be looking for another job. This AD rewards a mens BB coach who finishes as a 5th seed annually, but can't reward the football coach who has the best win percentage in the MAC the last four seasons. The mens BB coach was the top paid coach going into the 2024 season. This AD secretly rewarded the womens hoops coach for four consecutive lousy seasons, but can't reward the successful football coach. This AD thought that this successful coach was a mediocre coach and rewarded him as sixth/seventh highest paid coach in the conference. Albin possibly made a decision to leave Ohio because this current AD didn't appreciate him. This AD appreciates and rewards a womens hoop coach who has zero winning seasons the last four years and most of those years have been dreadful. This AD appreciates fifth and third seed annual finishes from the mens BB team. I'm not the only one who knows this AD has made huge blunders. This AD can tell you all anything you want to hear, but if she tells the truth, she will admit she messed up. And I am not related to Albin. I just appreciate a winner.
Your drivel is just THAT, drivel. Ask yourself WHY someone who spent 20 years in Athens would FAIL to wait and see what Cromer was going to offer him AFTER the season concluded. Why on earth would one want to meddle with contract negotiations while the season was still ongoing? And with a chance to win the MAC Championship? And a chance to win a bowl game? Only YOU would think it's best to disrupt momentum heading into the end of the season with distractions like renegotiating a contract. And what if he faltered in those last few games? Would he still deserve some contract negotiated before the END of the season? Your logic is non-existent.

We are thinking along the same lines.  See my post in another thread, where I ask the question if Bobcat1996 might be a woman. [The level of my agreement with you recently has been downright worried. frownwinksmiley]

And maybe my favorite Columbus band Watershed (who rarely plays anymore) will be at a local bar that night.
Don't know if Watershed will play the night of sept. 13. But they will be playing at Comfest on Friday night, June 20, at 9:50. The incomparable Willie Phoenix and the Soul Underground play before Watershed at 8:45. Not a bad 1-2 punch of Columbus rock legends.

In the past, after families and donors get taken care of, it’s a very limited if any release.
