This is what we need. The timing seems perfect with the BVP decision. Come home Tanner! Come home!

Why would he make a lateral move? He's going bigtime.

Yep..he will be a Buckeye or a Mountaineer. Just fun to dream a bit isn't it? Want to enjoy Sears one more year before Bama, Auburn or Arkansas come calling.

This is what the problem for mid majors will be and it will only get worse. Mid's will be victimized by their own success.

It seems like the poaching is intensifying this year compared to last year.

I wonder if coaches are having a light bulb moment of "hey, if I'm gonna take a 1 year player, I may as well take a proven commodity instead of one-and-done who could be a bust out of high school."

Take a mix of both.

Yeah, Tanner Holden is going P5 easily. He took Wright State to the NCAAs. He can leave there with no bad feelings me thinks.

Seems like a logical outcome of all of this.

Averaged around 35 min/g last 2 years at Wright St. Averaging around 14 m/g this season in Columbus, but only around 5 m/g last 4 games for a team that has lost 9 of 10.

Will Tanner go back into the portal or hope for a change for the better next year in Columbus?

Don't want anyone who started his career at Wrong State.

I think he's probably going to go into portal if Holtmann isn't fired after this season. We could use more scoring. How many years of eligibility does he have?

example of someone who doesn't play defense. He's an undersized forward in the Big10. In the Horizon he was able to post up and play around the basket, he can't do that in the Big10. At Wright State, Holden was career just under .50% from the field. At OSU, in conference games, he's .42%, with a 1:2+ assist:TO ratio.

I would take Tanner Holden in one second if he chose to come to Athens. He would immediately fit into our lineup for next year with Hunter, Miles, AJ Brown and our portal big man we will get :) Then a bench of: Wiz, Ezuma, Sheldon, another transfer and Hadaway (assuming that Clayton, Olumide and/or BRod transfer).

My understanding of the new transfer rules is that you get one transfer with no sitting out. You can get a waiver but not sure how hard that will be.

I would too! The MAC is comparable to the people he played against in the Horizon. And I was wrong, his career 2pt % at WSU was 52%

Couldn't play defense, never made to in High school or college.

Will be interesting, could he do a Jason Carter and return to Wright State? Interesting tidbit that I just came across:

" There’s a chance he might not be eligible to be a graduate transfer and could potentially have to return to Wright State in order to be immediately eligible."
