hahah....my kids would roll their eyes and say...."dad joke"....

My youngest cracked up when we were headed to Oxford going cross country...because that is the only way to get to Oxford...my new wife was sitting in the passenger seat and we came up to an intersection.... as Zach saw the "stop A head " sign I reached over as I braked and put my palm on her forehead. Zach cracked up in the back seat as she said "what the hell was that"? He knew.....

Tyrese is a good kid. still think he has a very low release....but he would be a good get... athletic wings that play D...can't have too many

I haven't heard the "Stop, a head" joke in a long time. Used to be a regular thing in my world. Ah, city life...

Thought about you today as we were in Broad Ripple for National Record Store Day and had to hit 2 vinyl shops right by where we ate at the first bar following the Butler game. Had to show all those hipsters how to thumb through a rack of records. Eeesh.

There were A LOT of bars that night for us. I think you're referring to the "hockey bar" on College Ave? I recommended this neck of the woods to a co-worker when he went to Indy a few weeks ago. I'd really like to journey back over to Hinkle sometime again soon. That was one great day!

Tyrese has recently picked up an offer from Bradley, and is receiving interest from Butler and Georgia Tech.

Here's an article from one of the news stations stating his top two are Ohio and Northern Iowa.

I really want this guy.

It really can bode well when you get in with a kid early, stay in with him throughout and have him ranking you at or near the top of his list this late in the process. Doesn't guarantee Ohio will be his choice. But there have been quite a few recruits along the line of Tyrese who stated that Ohio passionately was in from the start as a pivotal reason why they became Bobcats.

One interesting thing in that article is that they refer to him as a PG, while I've always thought he was considered a SG/SF type. Adding a guy with that size and PG-ish handles would be a nice addition.

Lets hope so. And he and Ben Vander Plas are both from Wisconsin and from the tweets I've seen they at least know of each other, possibly more than that. If BVP loves Ohio and lets Tyrese know he can excel as a Wisconsin kid over here, that would be another huge plus.

Throw in an offer from Indiana State. Seems like every mid major worth their salt in the Midwest wants Tyrese at this point.

If we can add Tyrese, with his athleticism and passing ability, to our two guards coming in the fall, we're eventually going to hurt somebody!

I can imagine him coming next year and joining a tremendous guard lineup of Butler, Kirk, Dartis, Gollon and Haliburton with posts Gareri, Carter and Taylor along with wings Block and Vander Plas. Saul is building depth and we haven't even talked about the fact that we have 3 open schollies for next year again to add to this year's great 4-man class!

Seems like a long shot at this point with 4 official visits lined up: Cincinnati, Iowa State, Nebraska and Northern Iowa. Kid blew up this summer into high-major category.

At least Phillips can't be accused of not "swinging for the fences".

I wouldn't write off Tyrese, as coming in late doesn't always work for bigger schools. We were in there very early and appear to have stayed for the duration. That really can bode in our favor if Tyrese really likes the school, the team and coaching staff.

Don't know how many times I told my son this summer that when you swing for the fences you pop up to the infield.

If he has a strong connection to the coaches and likes the players, he will come. Kirk turned down a lot of power 5 offers.

Has he already visited? It would seem that announcing your official visits and not including Ohio is a pretty good indication where you're leaning (hint: not Ohio).
