Thank you for the breakdown.

I would imagine he plays PF next to Jon Smith at center next year.  That'll be a very bouncy lineup

Would we have the only starting line up in America where the PF was taller than the Center?

More frequent than you might imagine. I only looked at at top 10 teams in the country and I found 3 that do it.

Florida - Erik Murphy 6'10, Patrick Young 6'9

Duke - Ryan Kelly 6'11, Mason Plumlee 6'10

Miami - Kenny Kadji 6'11, Reggie Johnson 6'10

I would not bet that Smith will be the starting 5 next year.

Portland of the NBA, partly because All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge doesn't want to be labeled a center.

Who can blame him w/ past Portland centers including Bill Walton, Greg Oden, Sam Bowie, Pryzbilla.
Q: What do the above all have in common (the reason why Aldridge prefers not being labeled a center).

Big jump from JUCO ranks to D1. My guess is he comes of the bench.

Michael Allen started right away, so did Mychal Green. Hell even Allen Hester started a bunch of games as a Juco. If N'dour isn't starting who is? Kadeem Green? One of the true Freshmen?

TJ Hall and Jon Smith.  Treg Setty also has a full year in the system.  I hope you are right, but watching some of his games online gave me some serious questions.

I just can't see Coach Christian starting a 6'5 guy at PF when there are 4 true big men on the bench. That seems like a very Tim O'Shea thing to do. But you never know until we see the guys play I guess.

I admittedly haven't seen N'Dour play but from reading about him it doesn't sound like he's a 5.

Anyone have any insight on Mr Setty? Observed him in practice etc enough to feel like they can give a scouting report and a take on his strengths , weaknesses.....ability to contribute?

Interesting video that.  Like about no hustle by anyone to play legitimate defense.  Maurice is clearly a highlight reel on those highlights; those other guys are not in his league.  I hope that he plays some bruisingly tough competition in the off season.

I'd be curious to hear what the real aficionados here have to say about Mo's strengths, weaknesses, techniques, etc.

That video was from last summer.  He has grown 1-2 inches since then.  The Clippers have been in to watch him play.  The coaches at OU have told me he will be the best athlete in the MAC next year.  They expect him to be the starting 4 and possibly even play some 3.  He will be on campus all summer and will benefit from the strength program.  He is expected to be a major piece of next year's puzzle.

This is very exciting.  Can't wait to see him in green and white.  Akron is in for a rude awakening based on their outlook on the 2013-14 season..

There was a quote from Maurice in the Post this week about Akron's Treadwell not being able to guard him next season. I love the confidence this guy has. And all indications are that he's got the work ethic to match.

Put me in the wildly optimistic column about next year's team.

Funny how this works, isn't it?  We have what was the most heralded senior class ever that just wrapped up play last week, and we're chomping at the bit for next year already.  I'm anxious to see how everything blends together with JC's recruits and the current group.  I really feel like Maurice and "Bean" are what will be critical to this team's success.  But it's nice to have a team with the appearance of depth that gives them the ability to play multiple ways.

You can't look at it like it's disrespectful to the outgoing senior class. We honor them and they accomplished a lot but after the stale taste left in our mouths I think it's optimistic to look towards the future. Not much will be expected of us this year. We will be picked below Akron and probably Kent in the East but we'll return perhaps a more intense, more well-rounded squad with regulars like Stevie, Jon, Nick, T.J., Travis and Rico back along with some exciting new blood like Maurice, Wingfield, Campbell, Bean and Setty. We could go 11 deep! And that's with Mompremier perhaps redshirting and someone like Travis not getting a lot of PT.

More highlights of NDour from last summer: www.youtube.com/watch

There might not be a ton of defense being played, but he can do it all. Post game, 3pt shot, run the floor, block shots, and he can dunk everything.

I'm gathering Ndour is the guy the coaching staff says will be the best athlete in the MAC next year?  They didn't specify the "best basketball player," just the best athlete.

I think the video link was already posted earlier in the thread, but I still enjoyed watching it.  He's gonna be a beast.

I've heard more than one person say that the feeling within the program and even from college basketball outside the program is that Ndour should compete at a high level right away. He was recruited by Big East schools, so it makes sense. Of course, there are no sure things as far as how any player will fit into a new league or team.

Heard great things about Caris Lavert, but tonight was the first real time I've watched much of him.  Bummer, we missed a good one that could've been another MAC difference maker.
