Excerpt from Rivals (http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1345764)

"In order to maximize his game and see how far it can take him, Moreira had to make a move and it landed him at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas. Since his arrival in June, he's been making rapid strides and proved that he's a legitimate high-major prospect with his play in Hutchinson and especially while matching up with a few other high-major big men - Orlando Sanchez and Maurice Ndour of Monroe College."

More...(http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1345764)

"Freshman big man Maurice Ndour is a guy that will be making noise next year. At 6-foot-8 he runs the floor, is a bouncy athlete and gets on the glass. He already has offers from St. John's, Providence and Cincinnati among others per his coaches."

I will say again...I am VERY EXCITED!

To add to that, despite being 5th on the team in minutes played, he was 1st in blocked shots,  2nd in rebounding, as well as 1st in field goal percentage.

With the other recruits, I guess Coach Christian decided to load up before winter.

This one via Japan. According to his current college, "He went to high school in Japan and won a contest there for proficiency in speaking Japanese by a foreigner". So he speaks at least 3 languages, probably 2 more than most of us.

Wow. Dude's got some miles. Japanese is very hard for non-native (or cousin language) speakers, so he's gotta have some smarts.

Maurice was born in Senegal,  earned a high school education in Japan, and learned five (5) languages!

This is a guy I will be proud to have at this university in general. This is the kind of student-athlete university presidents dream about.

Then if that isn't enough, consider the three known Big East offers. A low-profile guy like this who snuck under the AAU radar reeks of potential. This is the kind of commitment you see once a program like OHIO has turned the corner.

We know Christian can coach. It's looking more and more like he can pull in the kind of recruits that will elevate our program to the next level.

Go Bobcats!

Let's get Maurice's signature, in any language, as well as those of our other commitments, during next month's early signing period. Then I can really enjoy JC's first recruiting class at Ohio.

Eeee!  Awesome stuff.  This means 6 newcomers total next year (2 juniors, 1 soph, 3 frosh)...Bobcats will look a lot different next fall, but lots of good talent with a mix of experience.  Can't complain one bit.

Obviously 2014 class will be heavy on guards.
