Agreed! I actually played against Dontonio and J.J. Lucas in a high school team summer basketball tournament in Athens.  We played Dontonio's team at Athens H.S. and played J.J. Lucas's team at the the Convo.  Big deal for a then 17 year old kid.  First time in Athens, sold me on the university at first sight.

I've heard that Groce and co want Wingfield badly, but I'm pretty sure DJ is holding out for offers from Xavier and UC.

He is being totally misused at Lockland in my opinion. He has elite guard skills and should be the point guard. He is easily a SG in college and can move over to PG when needed. He would be a decent get for us.

I've seen him play quite a few times. The sky is the limit with him. Needs to improve his shot, but he is 6'5 with legit PG skills.

I was a little disappointed when we lost Caris Lavert, but this kid looks to be a bigger and stronger version.  Hopefully his verbal holds up through signing day.

Can we stop saying christian cant or wont recruit 4year talent now?    Having seen what he did at kent state and,  what he did with nothing at tcu, i think Christian is the perfect fit for the future success of this program

I like it, could fill the Offutt role next season, but especially his sophomore year when TJ & Rico are gone as well.  Now let's go get a true guard and (assuming Allen isn't coming) a true Center with the last 2.

I wonder if Groce considered him at Illinois since he liked him so much for Ohio.  Does anyone know what his available scholarship situation is for 2013 in Champaign?

According to the above article, he had over 20 offers. That included the top of the MAC and at least one A-10 school. That's how I judged Groce's success. Was he able to beat the MAC and some A-10 MVC schools. Christian has two building blocks in place, interesting to see what he can do with the other two. Of course, getting Tate would be huge.

If we get Tate, this recruiting class has a chance to be extremely special. Even without Tate, we are looking good.

Very impressed so far.

We seem to have success when it comes to basketball players named D.J.

Welcome to Athens!

PS Based on a quick view of the video, D.J. seems like an unselfish player. 6-5 player with PG skills...like it.

Excellent pickup here, liking what Christian is doing so far. Allen and Campbell also seem like great pickups. Excited to see who else he can land for this class.!

I would love to see that game, will have to settle for the recap. That's as good as it get's when it comes to a quality opponent. Spoke to Coach Hill earlier this year and he mentioned how tough their schedule was going to be. He wasn't lying!

Wingfield drops 17 against national #3, Huntington Prep. It sounds like he did most of his damage in the first half as he was limited in the second with a minor knee injury. Walnut Hills had a great showing, falling only 61-54. Andrew Wiggins, perhaps the top recruit in the country, had 32 points and 10 rebounds.
