With Anrio Adams coming in for Kadeem Green, we still have 5 scholarships for this class. With Tariq Owens committed, we have 4 remaining to give.
As its been mentioned elsewhere, scout.com moved Tariq up to 4 stars and into the Top 100 for 2014. A truly phenomenal start for JC.
It was nice to see the program get some recognition for signing Tariq Owens.. You gotta think we are now on the radars of some of the national recruiting analysts as a program to watch for this recruiting class.. That is very exciting. Looking at Ted's list of guys, we are going head-to-head with some quality programs.
If we can pair Tariq up with a highly regarded point guard and wing in this class, we could be talking about a very well ranked incoming class. I know that those national ranking sites should be taken with a grain of salt, but I think that'd be something cool to see for Ohio. Knowing JC's love for bigs, I would expect we are still targeting a big to play alongside Tariq.
Also worth noting, Anrio is actually just a year ahead of the 2014 class after he redshirts. Considering that, you have 2 wing players ahead of this class in Anrio and Wingfield. I still think we bring in a wing for this class, but I think priority #1 is a good point guard. Whoever the point is would have a year behind Willis/Taylor then take the reigns as a soph... This is actually the ideal way to handle it, IMO, but its a little troublesome that if something happens to that player we are all of a sudden without a PG for that year.
