Another update... Nice game last time out.  Just looking at his game by game stats, (You can see them here: http://www.monroecollegemustangs.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=1728 ), looks as if he fell off quite a bit for a spell, and then didn't play for a span of games. I suspect injury but, I'm not in the know...

It looks like he actually may be playing PG based on his numbers. His points are down but his assists are way up.  I don't care if he ever plays the point for us but I'm intrigued that he has the ability.  Bodes well for the team concept.

A 6'6" point guard in the MAC sounds insane.

Well UofA's Harney showed OHIO what its like to have a 6'5" guy guarding the point--fits for DJ!!  So if this young man never plays point at OHIO, it still would be very nice knowing he can smother the opponent at point when you need him.

He is easily the most important part  piece of this year's puzzle.  Much is expected from him.  He will get more minutes than anyone else.

Any thoughts on this one ? Can t find any social media. Who was the recruiter on the kid?

He still has The Convo as his background photo on Twitter, for whatever that is worth.

JC recruited him with the help of Orlando Antigua.  Now that Antigua got the South Florida job, he is taking Nehemias with him.

Why was Antigua recruiting players for us while at Kentucky?

Are Laranga and N'dour connected, or is that too much to assume since they're connected from Monroe College?

My thoughts exactly.

Regardless, it looks like he is a goner.

Antigua played for JC at Pittsburgh.  They are friends.  Antigua, as a Dominican, knew Nehemias and due to his respect for JC, guided him to play for JC.  Coaches who can help their friends do this all the time if they can't use or don't need a player.

Anyone want to link their sources? I can't find any buzz about any of this or the Ndour to Iowa State garbage anywhere else but here.

So we let this kid out of his LOI without any issues but we won't do the same for Owens?  Seems like kind of a double standard.

No, same standard.  Each will be let out if they so choose to....after they talk to our Coach.

Exactly. Unless there is hard, concrete evidence that the two are being treated differently, this is just assumption and rumor. Rumors are fun to discuss the possibilities of, but otherwise, we can't assume Nehemias has just been let out of his POI.

What's the verdict on this guy? Did he ask for a release?

This is the way it happens in Div. I college athletics.  I can't understand for the life of me why this would surprise anybody or why we should hate on JC because of this.  It's the nature of the beast.

It also doesn't mean that these guys won't end up at Ohio.  Their recruitment is just being reopened.

Jeff.....I love ya bro but please stop being so evangelical! The issue this university will continue to face is exactly what is happening right now. These situations are not readily recoverable my friend. I am sure that is the frustration of most on this board that truly bleed green. I assure you that is not everyone on this minority blog really do bleed green when it comes down to it.

You have so many versions of Bobcats here it is almost impossible for most to relate.

How many years have went by where 3 players have been released from their LOI with this level of talent? I have followed this program since 1983 and I can't remember any year?

Groce and JC are turncoats. Period. Of course they chase the almighty dollar just like corporate America.

The fact these kids cut bait is an end product of a Mid-Major Coaching Carousel. You have that correct. So what.

I do not accept that stance. Sorry. Is is possible Sal took a hardcore stance and said hit the road if you have any doubt of wearing the Green and White? I sure as hell hope so.

BANG! Oh baby what a big time stance!
