Culver graduated from Pickerington Central and is now at Elev8 Prep in FL. Offer announced via various sources, including Ass't Coach at Pick Cent. I know we have followed this young man closely for a long time.

As a parent I can't imagine sending my child to a school named Elev8 Prep.

I've seen Culver play about 3-4 times for Central (v. Newark). Always reminded me of the Microwave from the Bad Boys. Wouldn't mind him heading down to Athens to continue his education.

Offers from Campbell, Coastal Carolina, IPFW, EKU, Delaware and Hofstra. Sounds like our kind of guy and our kind of company recruiting these days (ok we just won a big game I shouldn't be so sarcastic, sorry).

My very uneducated guess: If his rating has been bumped, he is probably drawing more interest than that. Much like with Dartis, I don't really care about who else is offering him if he can play.

I'm curious though - for you George, and others - what is the expectation of kids that we offer? I'm not saying you're right or wrong. I've only gotten into following recruiting in the last 3-4 years.

I'm in agreement with borna with the idea of swinging for the fences the way Groce did here, and trying to recruit guys on the edge of the power conferences, because hey, if you don't swing, you don't get 'em. That said, I don't think it's fair to assume that every coach is gonna recruit this way. I also don't think who else offers a player is important. As a fan, it's a great conversation piece to say "ABC school offered, and he chose Ohio!". I did this with Maurice N'Dour to my family when he shot down UC and St.Johns for Ohio.

In the end, I think you gotta have guys that (1) will fit your system, (2) have the want to/BBIQ/and can shoot, and lastly (3) are athletic enough to hang with some of the bigger programs.

I think our coaching staff is doing a fine job of recruiting. I'd love to see more athletic players at some spots, but I'm no D1 coach, and I don't know a damn thing about what I should be looking for. I know one thing: OUr team as a whole is a better shooting team than we've had in awhile, and that's a nice thing to watch.

Pick Central is a #4 seed in the upcoming OHSAA tournament. They face Grove City Central Crossing on 2/20 in their home gym. Future sites TBD.

There is still what we hope is the formality of Tony C "undeclaring" for the NBA draft...

That said, welcome Rodney!
