Also, with Timken and McKinley merging, he is now on McKinley. I think they are still in playoffs...

Article on expectations for McK basketball. http://www.cantonrep.com/article/20151018/SPORTS/151019334
Along with Toles, his teammate is committed to Akron and Jr PG getting interest.

If he didn't mention the offer from Ohio I'm wondering if it was pulled. Toles was originally a Christian recruit.

This kid looks like a great leader. He may be small for a two, but he will be fine in the MAC. Let's get him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZBWMHkPYWA

Wasn't sure Ohio was still recruiting him, but he now plays for Canton McKinley since Timken was shut down. McKinley is still alive in the tournament and plays Hoover on 3/3 at the Civic Center.

http://brackets.myohsaa.org/bracket.aspx?t=6480&ts=15372&...

Lepear had 18 pts, 4 rebs, and 4 assists in their recent win over Green. His teammate Jordan Davis is being recruiting by Akron.

UT Martin offered? Didn't one of our assistants from Christian era go to UT Martin?

McKinley beat Hoover in the semis, now play #1 Massillon Jackson Saturday night. This game is at the Civic Center in Canton.

http://brackets.myohsaa.org/bracket.aspx?t=6480&ts=15372&...

Big game from Lepear. He scored 17 points in 12 minutes to help the Bulldogs pull away in the 2nd half. Finished with 22 points, 5 boards and 4 assists.

“We put it in our mind this game that we weren’t going to let them outhustle us, that we were going to tire them out with our press"

http://www.cantonrep.com/sports/20160304/mckinley-hits-ga...

Bulldogs forced 30 turnovers. Holy cow.

Not a big fan of watching games at the Civic Center, would rather watch at the Fieldhouse but they have a lot of other amazing games there already and it's McKinley's home gym. But I agree, should be a good one.

Agree on watching games at the Civic Center...feels like the action is too far away..but really isn't. It's weird. Plus parking sucks!

Sounds like a winner. Digging deep to leave it all on the floor and have no regrets. Also, liked that he said he was focused on playing great defense...

With McKinley's win over Jackson, they advance to the Regional Semis at the JAR in Akron and play Brunswick.

Here's an article from the Canton Repository about Toles taking over the game.

I like Timken to beat Brunswick but that should be a good one. Brunswick just beat Medina (Kaminski's HS) who has a 7-footer committed to Michigan.

Toles really did take over the game. He started a bit slow but seemed to turn it on when he realized nobody from either team was going to...

He was the only player on either team who seemed willing to drive to the rim with any intensity. I was hoping to see his outside shot more but he literally drove to the rim on each of his touches. Hopefully his outside shooting is better than his free throws as he was only about 50% on the night from the line. He could have pushed 25-30 pts if he made his free throws.

Huggins came in at halftime to watch. Not sure if he was there for Toles or Jackson's junior Kyle Young who has attracted lots of Big 10 interest this year. Beilein and Crean have been at a couple of the games I've attended.

Toles was "lights out" in McKinley's win over Brunswick. He almost recorded a triple double with 19 pts, 8 boards, 8 assists and 4 steals. And I didn't know this, but he's a lefty!

http://www.cantonrep.com/sports/20160310/lights-out-lepea...

OHSAA must have got the wrong report, because they have Brunswick advancing on their site.

Toles and McKinley take on Lima Senior on Saturday night at the JAR.

Watched videos and read several articles that I googled. Sounds like a good kid. Looks like he could even handle the point.

Not sure if he was still being recruited by Saul or not, but it looks like hes going to prep school; Fork Union Military Academy to be specific. The article mentions hes an academic qualifier with offers, but is looking to attract "major D1 offers".

Reading between the lines - he didn't want to go to Akron or Kent. ;)

Hmmm. Wonder if he'll still be on Ohio's radar next year with more open scholarships than this year. We probably go big man, but a wing with his ability might be helpful.

We'd probably still want him but with Block, Dartis and Culver already here he might not be as interested.
