He has a lot of potential, but has not done that much on the court. He had a season ending injury last year. He is not a sure thing, he is a little bit of a project. I hope he comes back strong. Still would like to see Graves.

If Butler does end up as the PG in this class and not at shooting guard, we've got another guard who is very tall for his position. I was excited about the prospect of Will Thomas playing PG for us before that fell through in part because of the height he could give us. Our last PG who was this height was a guy named Jeremy Fears.

Wow...a "project"?? You're extremely skeptial about our recruits...back on 12/03/15 you reacted to an 8 and 8 stat line on Jason Carter by saying that was "concerning" to you. Yet he finished the season first team Dispatch and the early reports on him in Athens have been glowing. As for Butler, I don't think schools like Murray St and Hofstra would offer a guard "project"--maybe a big man project, but they don't do that with guards.

The kid has not done much on the court, but he has potential. He got injured last year. I think he averaged around 13 points. He is just coming off surgery, he may have a great year this year. Who Knows. Hopefully Carter does well too. First team all-dispatch and Ohio top 75 recruit is not getting a steal. I like the fact that his game has improved. We will see, I was just being honest.

Show me where you're reading these things about Butler. I'd like to know what things he needs to have done on the court to impress you. Just because Graves might have the stats and the recognition from being at SVSM doesn't necessarily make him the best fit for this team. You know who wins and has great stats at SVSM? Just about everyone that plays there. I like Graves and would welcome him to Ohio, but I'm not gonna favor him over a kid that has already pledged his commitment and is willing to play here.

He looks much more like a PG to me than a SG.

The kid has potential. He played in only a few games and averaged around 12 points. Maybe he will have a breakout season. He was ranked #1218 here. http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/zach-butler/cdAIDlw-EeOzM...
Take the ranking with a huge grain of salt.

Glad to see Ohio recruiting the south. In football, the nephew of the late Steve McNair (Casey Perkins) is on pace to rush for 2000 yards and 20+ TD's (tailback - class of 2017) out of Smyrna TN. Several MAC schools are on him but not Ohio? This makes no sense.

They should be all over the south like a duck on a june bug, every sport... getting talented kids who might want to try living in a different part of the country.

Today's Columbia paper The State listed him in the top 5 seniors in the state and his highschool (Dorman) is ranked No. 1 in the biggest division 5A.

Based on his twitter feed it looks like Dorman is correct.

Never heard of a Norcross in SC just Georgia. Dorman is usually a powerhouse in football. Dorman is one of the biggest schools in the state with 2,400 students.

I'm not a twitter hound of high school athletes, but it is refreshing to see the positive tweets and attitude of this kid versus some of the nonsense I see some kids post to the world.
